  1. What does a replacement ECM cost? It might be better to buy a second unit to avoid the downtime and expensive shipping costs.
  2. Agreed. Keep the P tires if you’re concerned with the ride. That’s the only reason to get the Denali in my opinion. It has the best ride. I like my new AT4 but my 2015 Denali rode much better on the street.
  3. I had my appointment this morning. They said that GM usually claims that some glass distortion is normal and won't repair under warranty, but the service guy agreed that mine was right in my field of view and noticeable enough to try and file a claim. Fingers crossed! He said I should hear back in a week, but it could take up to three weeks to get a new windshield in. And then they'd need a half day to replace the glass.
  4. Right. If you're in the sun it'll read high. 95 degrees is the temp in the shade away from radiant heat sources (i.e. concrete, asphalt, etc.).
  5. I was going to say the same thing. Throttle Body spacer does nothing on a DI engine.
  6. Ok, sure. I'd mention that to your service manager. If the guidance says to replace them all, then that seems fair. I thought you might have been asking for something crazy like GM to pay your car note or a full buy back or something. Some people seem to think they're owed unreasonable things for being slightly inconvenienced. A thorough troubleshooting and repair is not an unreasonable ask.
  7. Talk to your girlfriend about that! Ha. What are you expecting GM to do besides fix it under warranty?
  8. My truck came with the GM Performance Exhaust which I think is the Borla Touring. I haven't modified a truck exhaust since I was in my 20's because I spend a lot of time in my truck and now appreciate the quiet ride. The GM exhaust makes itself heard when accelerating but is relatively quiet when cruising so I'm not complaining about it. There's no drone. The only time it annoys me is when towing as the sound echoes off my boat and is louder than I prefer. I think the exhaust going out the rear makes them quieter than in the past. I had a Corsa Touring years ago and it seemed louder.
  9. Agree. Train your foot and save your money for some better mods. This is a waste of money.
  10. I have an appointment at my dealer next Wednesday. They said their glass guy would look at it and file a claim with GM. If GM approves it it’ll take 3-4 weeks to get the new glass in. Fingers crossed!
  11. Mine says V155.3.8. It’s been the same since I got the truck.
  12. The adaptive cruise in these trucks sucks balls. I tried to use it for a while, but finally turned it off. Even the closest setting is way too far. Cars can still easily pull in front of you. And it waits too long before it starts to slow down, so the slow downs feel abrupt. My mom has a new Audi Q7 and her ACC works much better. You can follow closer to vehicles in front and it slows down more gradually so that you hardly notice it's slowing down. The only problem with her ACC is that it reads speed limit signs and tries to make you go the speed limit.
  13. How have these steps held up? Any issues? Complaints? I hear they’re hard to clean with the bed liner spray? How easy is it to wash your truck down at the bottom? Thanks.
  14. Which assist steps are these? TIA.
  15. I've never had a truck need new brakes prior to 100k miles. I'd bring it to the dealer for warranty if you think the pads are worn that quickly. There was a comment I read in a thread where the brake wear indicator screen was incorrect and had to be updated. Maybe that's the problem?
  16. Nope. I had a CAI on a truck years ago and then realized very quickly that they're gimmicks for street vehicles. The only gains they provide are at the top end of the performance spectrum, but no gains at 1500 RPM where most people spend most of their time. Buying one for fuel economy reasons (as in the OP's question) is pointless. OEMs spend MILLIONS of dollars on R&D to gain tenths of MPG. They wouldn't leave something as simple as a CAI on the table. And then even if there was a 0.1 to 0.2 mpg increase in fuel economy, how many years would it take to break even on a $300-$500 CAI? 10 years maybe? 15 years? How many people hold on to a vehicle for that long? Want to buy one for other reasons? Go ahead. It's your money. And I wasn't necessarily talking about this thread, but this site in general. Lots of strong opinions.
  17. This is how most of the threads around here go. A few people answer and then it turns into a dick measuring contest. Truck guys are hard headed I guess.
  18. Thanks. Wow. Look great. The light is a nice touch. Those look to be very similar to AMP steps. Anybody know who for sure if they are or aren't?
  19. Anybody have any pics of the GM steps? I’d like to see what they look like, especially on an AT4. Thanks.
  20. What about the the rest of the internals? Are they identical? Or are there differences between them? Crankshaft, pistons, heads, valves? I'm really wondering how hard it would be to incorporate the Vette changes into a truck like the ZR2. Thanks.
  21. Looks like I may have found the answer using Google. Looks like they went to a new cam with the LT2, in addition to physical changes for the mid-engine installation.
  22. I searched but couldn't find anything recent comparing the 2021 6.2L to the Corvette 6.2L. There is a topic on this for the 2014 6.2L, but I couldn't find anything recent. Since 2014 the 6.2L in the trucks has stayed at 420HP and 460TQ. I think the only difference in the Corvette back then was the Intake Manifold which bumped the HP up to 430. But the 6.2L in the Corvette has now jumped from 430 up to 490 and torque went from 460 to 470. So what's different between the LT2 and the L87? Thanks.
  23. Wow! What a thread. I had forgotten how immature and "macho" some of the people are on this site. I wonder how many of you have truck nuts hanging from the back? If you answered that one engine is better than another, then you don't know what you're talking about. All of the engines are fine. Their reliability is basically equal. They're just suited to different tasks and different people. Nobody can answer that question for somebody else. For some people the 4.3L will be the best engine, for others the 6.2L. It's a simple concept Not one engine can do everything asked of it. The 6.2L makes gobs of power, but it's expensive to own and operate given the up front cost, premium gas, and crappy fuel economy. That's not for everybody. The 4.3L is great on mileage and light truck duty, but wouldn't be a good choice for somebody looking to tow or carry heavy loads regularly. The 5.3L is a good compromise between the two. Buy the engine that suites your personal needs.
  24. I don’t know why they just don’t get rid of regular gas completely and only sell premium? It would simplify things and make it cheaper. Win-win.
  25. Sorry. Can’t answer your question. But wondering why your changing brakes pads in a year old truck?
