  1. I have the Eibach Pro Truck stage 1 kit on my truck. I have roughly 50k miles on them with the stock aluminum UCA and my ball joints are still tight at 104k miles. When/ if my upper ball joints need replacing I plan to go with the Superlift UCAs. They are an aluminum arm similar to my factory arms but with increased ball joint angle. Be careful with some of the fabricated arms. They won’t clear positive offset wheels.
  2. 2016 Z71 Eibach Pro Truck Stage 1 kit set at 2-1/2” of front lift. 2” rear lift blocks replaced the factory 1-3/16” blocks. 305/65/18 (34x12) BFG KO3 on 18x9 +12mm offset Black Rhino wheels. Front tires are 1/2” outside the fenders and the back tires are flush. Front tires slightly rubbed the back corners of the fenders and fender liners. I trimmed the fenders and made trim plates. I used a few strategically placed zip ties to pull the liners back.
  3. My Hypertech Max Energy programmer has a setting to reduce tq converter slip. There are 3 levels; Stock, Street, and Economy. I have mine set on economy which has the least amount of slip. Between that, the thermostat pill flip, and replacing 5 qts of fluid every year (roughly 10k miles) maybe my 6L80 will live a long happy life. Fingers crossed
  4. I have 15mm (almost 5/8”) spacers that I use with my stock wheels. They came with ET (extended thread) lug nuts that have 10mm of extra thread engagement over the stock lugs.
  5. Cut the front fenders and made some stainless plates to pull back the liners and corner plastic trim. I now have about 1” of clearance but it still rubs the liner at the cab mounts. Need to see what I can cut/ bend there.
  6. On the back of the wheel, look for ET followed by a number. That number will be the offset in MM. To measure the backspacing, lay a straight edge across the edge of the wheel and measure to the mounting surface.
  7. I have the Eibach Stage 1 kit. With their springs set at the lowest notch on the shocks, I got 2.5” of lift. If your truck has the stamped steel UCA, you shouldn’t go over 2” of lift as the stamped arms are known to have the ball joints pull loose from the arms.
  8. I have tire rub on the plastic trim at the back of the front fenders I need to take care of. Heard it today backing out of a parking spot. Going to trim off the inside end at first. If that’s not enough, I’ll but the Rough Country trim plates and trim some metal.
  9. Got the tires mounted today and put them on the truck to check clearance in the front. With the fender liners zip tied back, I have about 1/4” of clearance. The truck has a 2-1/2” front lift and the factory rear blocks were replaced with 2” blocks The wheels are 18x9 with +12 offset. Took it for a drive and I was surprised at how quiet these tires are. Even with the rear slider open I could hardly hear any tire noise.
  10. Thanks. They’re Black Rhino “Lucerne”. I made the aluminum center caps to replace the plastic ones. After cleaning them up I realized they only had a few blemishes in the clear. I polished them with some Meguires paint polish and touched up the chipped clear coat. I’ll wet sand and polish the touched up spots and wax them. They clean up nicely for being 12 yrs old. Also got my valve cover gaskets replaced today.
  11. Bought some Christmas presents for the Silverado. New valve cover gaskets because both sides are leaking. Replacing them tomorrow. New spring-fall tires. 305/65/18 BFG KO3. The clear and paint is pealing on my wheels so I’m going to strip and polish them.
  12. Oh crap! I’m an old timer and I didn’t realize it until now. Lol
  13. I used the Mobil Delvac 75w90 for my 2016. It took 4qt 12oz total to fill both diffs. I wanted an oil that doesn’t have the limited slip additive in it to prevent any issues with the G80 locker.
  14. My truck had a chirping/squeaking sound from the left side of the dash. It ended up being the A pillar trim rubbing against the dash. I added a piece of foam tape to the bottom edge of the A pillar trim and the sound is gone.
  15. Replaced the thermostat. Since late last fall the temp gauge hasn’t been getting above 180-190F. I recently bought an OB2 scanner and it was only reading 160F max. Now it gets up to 205-210F like it’s supposed to. Hopefully, my mileage improves some too.
  16. I used this on my 2016 Silverado to hopefully hold off body rot after having the rockers rusting through on my 2008 at 8yrs and 90k miles. My 2016 is at that same age and mileage and so far all is good. Noxudol is a cavity wax that coats and creeps into the crevices and pinch welds. I sprayed it into the bottoms of the doors, rockers, tailgate, fenders, bedsides, and under the cab where there are braces spot welded to the floor. Every spring I pull out the fender liners and rocker panel plugs and flush everything out with water to hopefully get out the road salt hiding in the crevices.
  17. Switched out my cheap plastic wheel center caps for the aluminum caps I machined.
  18. Mine are set at the lowest setting at 2.5”. The Stage 1 kit consists of their shocks with multiple snap ring grooves like the Bilsteins to adjust the lift height. At their lowest setting with the stock springs, the ride height is stock. With the springs included in the Pro Truck Stage 1 lift, the lowest setting is 2.5” of lift and the 2nd groove is 3.2”. They don’t recommend using the 3rd or 4th groove. Rear blocks are easy to install. Do one side at a time to keep the axle from getting away from you and disconnect the shocks to allow the axle do drop away from the springs.
  19. The front bumper had the plastic pieces removed and I made a custom skid plate to fill the center. I also replaced the flimsy plastic wanna-be skid plate/ splash shield with the aluminum GM skid plates. My front measures 39-1/2” to the fenderwell with my nearly worn out tires that measure 32”. The rear fenderwell measures 40-3/4”. The stock lift blocks measure 1-3/16”.
  20. Thanks. I replaced the stock rear blocks with 2” blocks. It has 1-1/4” of rake measuring from the ground to the tops of the fenderwells.
  21. I have the Eibach Pro Truck Stage 1 kit set at 2-1/2” of lift. The tires are 285/65/18 on 18x9 wheels with +12mm offset. The edge of the tread sits flush to the tops of the fenderwells. A 295 on a 0 offset would stick out another 17mm or roughly 3/4”. My next tires will probably be 295/70/18
  22. I used Mobil 1 Delvac 75W90 in my diffs because it doesn’t contain limited slip additive. The additive isn’t recommended for the G80 locker. It took 4qts 12oz for both diffs.
  23. I made it from a piece of plastic. There were a couple of L brackets on the back to attach it inside the pocket.
  24. I installed a Reese unit that mounts behind the dash and has a small dial/ button and an LED that I mounted in the dash panel.
  25. I added trailer brake controls to the same panel. The factory color has a very fine metallic flake in it. When I painted mine, I first sprayed it with satin black and then I sprayed a very light dusting of metallic black from about 2-3 ft away.
