  1. i got the Hypertech 732501 Speedometer/Odometer Recalibration Programmer - yea... i know it's not the one you are asking about - but it worked great before i bought it i contacted my dealership (via email) asking if it would void any warranties and they responded saying "no - it was fine to use". i made sure to hold onto that reply just in case if you have warranty concerns i would recommend contacting your dealership and make sure you get a written reply
  2. the anzo instructions show how to do it without removing the bumper. the link from above doesn't work but i saved the pdf when it was on the anzo webpage - hoping i can attach the file.... looks like it worked! hopefully it will help you out! bumper step removal.pdf
  3. i think you need to change your user name to "Gumpy Bea"!! ha! ha!
  4. yes - it's glow wire you can see what i did in my build thread i think this link will take you to where i started working on the cup holders... https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/189651-bc-chris-2014-silverado-slz-z71/page/5/?tab=comments#comment-1879718 keep scrolling thru the build thread becuz the cup holders get brought up a few times
  5. i added a ton of ambient lighting to my '14. front footwells (i have 2 sets of lights for the front footwells - one is bright and is wired to come on when the door opens. the other is a lot dimmer and is on for driving a night, just to give a little light in the footwells). i put some lights in the 'cubbies' on either side of the center console: in the cubby on the back of the center console: added lights under the front seats to light up the floor of the back seats. these come on when the doors are open: and then probably my favourite one... i made an insert for the bottom of my cup holder! i still have lots of plans to add other lighting elements to the truck - just need to find the time! life was much easier before kids! ha! ha!
  6. i used SEM colour coat (adhesion promoter and then the 'graphite' colour) when i did the interior of my '89 back in 2012. the interior was the classic 10 different shades of grey and i wanted to make everything match. i pulled out EVERYTHING and painted it - even the metal seat brackets!! it looked awesome... and still does. i've been amazed at how it's held up! center console lid while in progress: finished door panel and everything reinstalled. some of the greys look different, but that's from different materials and how the light bounces off of them. like i said - the interior still looks the same today! ** i hadn't done the center console when i took these pics - but it matches and still looks awesome!
  7. those mirrors are suuuuuper easy to swap out. there's 3 'bolts' on the mirror that attach them to the truck. depending on your door panel, you can either just pop off a small piece on the inside or (if your doors are like mine) you need to pop off the entire door panel here's a couple videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_vU_6UnHu8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zdUa-2Bumg i did mine years (more like decades) ago. this is my '89...
  8. i'm trying to remember - it was a couple years ago that i added the LED. i think i remember saying to myself, "well that was easier than i thought it would be!"
  9. i have a 2014 silverado and added grille overlays that i got off of ebay - they worked great and were waaaaaay less than replacing the grille! i can't speak for the overlays you are looking at, but mine fit fine
  10. i popped mine out a couple years ago to add a light inside the "cubby hole' (my kids love it! ha!) as mentioned above - 4 screws and then it's just clips that hold on the piece
  11. this video is great for showing where you can grab power.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0ZNOFpDTEo around 8:40 is where the guy talks about the power supplies
  12. you mean like this... https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/179750-regular-cab-short-box-pictures/
  13. ha... don't even think of buying gas in canada... not that you can cross the border right now anyways! 'regular' gas (87 octane) is currently at $1.309 per LITRE!!! there's 3.78541 l/us gal...so that's a measly $4.955 per gal welcome to canada!
  14. i can't remember which guy it was, but someone installed e-track on either side of their tailgate (like where the hinges are) and then got different clips to go in the track depending on what he wanted to strap down. i plan on doing this mod in the next couple months - it's great for strapping stuff down when the tailgate needs to stay down e-track: https://www.princessauto.com/en/1000-lb-stainless-steel-e-track-single-track/product/PA0008526295 strap: https://www.princessauto.com/en/2-in-x-8-ft-3500-lb-e-track-ratchet-strap/product/PA0008841553
  15. i have a 2014 that i put snap on overlays - they've worked great.
  16. there is a guy in town that has a truck just like that and he must live somewhere out past me becuz i see him a lot in the summer in my neighbourhood. i can't believe i haven't had an accident yet when he drives by becuz i'm usually paying more attention to his awesome truck than the road!
  17. typ0... you don't have your location showing, so i can only assume that you are in michigan and your truck is possessed. you would have been on a highway.... perhaps the highway to.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l482T0yNkeo
  18. i don't know - i think a lot has to do with what you are using your truck for. i had a 7.5" rough country lift put in over 3 years ago and have had no issues at all. now, with that being said, my truck is pretty much a street queen (ha!). if my plan was to go crazy off roading then i'd likely gone a different route. also - to the question in the original post.... my lift/tire guys said that 37s would not fit with my lift, so i have 35s
  19. only a 30 mile round trip to WAMS?!?! ?
  20. ebay! i think it was this stuff... glow strip colour would have been blue
  21. there is lots of room to run wires under the center console. pop the trim pieces off and there is lots of access i added glow tubing inside my cup holder for kicks!
  22. had to buy a new battery today for my '14. not exactly what i was planning my next post in the thread to be - ha! **oh... and what a pain to get the battery out - man oh man. i guess i'm just used to my old '89... disconnect the positive and negative wires from the battery, lots of room to get a good grip on the battery and out it comes. not so with the 14!
  23. log into the forum this morning.... a gm forum... to see an add for a ford
  24. i lifted my truck 7.5" and put on 35s and i started getting the stabilitrak track issues... but only turning a hard left. i read of others having this issue somewhere on this forum and it was mentioned that a tire calibration would fix the issue... but only the hypertech recalibrator would do the trick - so that's what i bought and it worked. this is the one i bought: hypertech the stabilitrak has only kicked in once since i did the tire calibration... and that had to do with me having a lot of fun in the snow one afternoon
  25. i've got stuff planned... just need some time!! my wife had to get foot surgery about a month ago. still can't put any weight on her foot so i've been doing everything (and she has been going NUTS on the couch). it wouldn't be too bad except that we've got two young kids (6 and 3.5 yrs) - so that keeps me hoping!! my wife should be good on her foot again in the next couple weeks!! can't wait!! ha! ha!
