  1. Zombie Lie's and Liars I'm officially coining a new phrase. The Zombie Lie. A lie so ridiculous as to be laughable and so transparent a child knows it's a lie and yet, told over and over and over, like a zombie refusing to die, until it supersedes the truth in the minds of at least 100 monkeys. I'll let you research "The 100th Monkey Theory". Zombie liar? A person whose default mode is such a lie. You heard it here first. 9:25 PM CST 3/2/2025
  2. Did he owe us that? It's his study, right. Perhaps his "intellectual property'. In any case, he gives us enough to make his point. Same oil gives the same performance. Point, set and match.
  3. So, your conclusion is his conclusion is wrong? OR, You just like making fun of Kermit. All he really said was all Group III oils of the same viscosity with the same add package blended to the same specification or license do the same job no matter who's label is on the bottle. Specifically ILSAC GF-6 for SAE 5W30. If that ain't true, tell me and I'll buy an empty AMSOIL OE or Royal Purple bottle and pour some NAPA Gold into it before the next move to the motor. That's a magic bottle right there and worth the extra cash. SOLD!!!
  4. No! Really? My wife sells flowers?
  5. Same base oils (license) Same add pack more or less (License) Same viscosity (Requirement). Miles will not matter. Oil doesn't know what label in on that bottle or who owns the company. That said if WHERE matters that much to you, then by all means, pay double and be happy. Ask AMSOIL if 100% of their feedstocks are drilled and refined in the USA. BTW, If everything on your property that was made outside the US in whole or in part or manufacture outside same removed from your presents....what would you have left? Even your GM....your Bell Peppers....your underwear. Just say'n. That is about as political as I get. SCIENCE is my thing and it happens all over the Universe.
  6. You didn't watch the Video, did you?
  7. Regular at some stations is as low as $2.85. Others as high at $3.29.

  9. Last 30 years or so I've used Interstate Battery's. Don't know who makes them. I know they stand behind the warranty and more importantly. I have one had one occasion to even use it.
  10. https://injuryfacts.nsc.org/all-inju...odds-of-dying/ In 2023 there was a 1 in 95 chance of being killed in a motor vehicle crash. In that year there were about 342,000,000 people living in the USA. That means 360,000 people died by auto. That's allot of carnage. Enough so that we have laws and drivers education to help prevent those odds from getting lower. Add yet we have almost every person on the road defying those laws. How would those odds improve if obeyed? When we do something we KNOW is unsafe and risk what is preventable I think we have defined "Stupid". Thing is, no matter how often you tell someone that their behavior puts them at risk, they willfully ignore. How many knew what I wrote in that first paragraph before hand? How many will now change their behavior? 1 in 7 people died from cancer and yet people do little to abate even those odds. Smoke, drink to excess etc. If people will defy odds of 1 in 7 you will never convince them to obey traffic laws at 1 in 95, and you will never get them to change their lubricating fluids for the same reasons. Unless they value the thing at risk enough to take measures to improve their odds. As far as lubrication is concerned getting someone who trades every few years that the cost and effort is worthwhile is going to be hard. Further, in this current climate of human selfishness, convincing someone that the next owner deserves your current best effort....well... the odds are better at getting struck by a meteor while standing on Mars. Believing they have a right to rebel and hate their neighbor. I am also aware I can't fix that for anyone so, You do you.
  11. No worries. We got squared away. All good.
  12. Perfect. Thanks.
  13. Did that. Got a bigger version of blurry. LOL Thanks @OnTheReel
  14. Think you could get a clearer and larger shot of the section on friction modifiers? Blurry.
  15. I tended bar for awhile in my 20's. They served Blind Robins, pickled eggs and warm beer. Nothing like giggly farting old drunks. I wasn't there long. LOL

  18. Down a dime since my last post in our area. $2.90 ish.
  19. I'm stunned over the number and verity of definitions various dictionaries give for the word Politics. One many dictionaries share: [Quote]The art or science of government or governing, especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of its internal and external affairs. [Close quote] That one seems pretty innocuous. These two are trouble makers: Cambridge Dictionary +Plus 1.) Politics are also the activities of people who are trying to obtain an advantage within a group or organization: 2.)someone's opinions about how a country should be governed: Opinions by their very nature are not synonymous with either facts or truth. Trouble when we insist they are. That first one is what it has become. Actively seeking an advantage by whatever means required. That IS NOT THE 'administration of law', "the making of law" or the "assurance laws are in compliance with the Constitution'. But it is now the main providence being sought. A marketing pyramid for power. Men dominating men to their ruin. Ecclesiastes 8:9 All of this I have seen, and I applied my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, during the time that man has dominated man to his harm.
  20. Sorry, I did not. Math has it at 28.6% new CVT fluid. (PAO)

(OEM first service was supposed to be 30K) 1 Valvomax kit. Transmission. What I took out, left. What I put in, right. Wonder what that would have looked like almost 3X this distance?
  22. Just tossing this out there. Most Big Box Store oils are not shear stable and within the period of time you state will shear down about 1 SAE grade. Maybe more if the tune is a bit off or GDI is in play where fuel dilution is also a factor on higher milers. While you might not be able to see it on a dash gauge the sensor that feeds the MIL/ECM does. If the motor is a higher miler a little is enough. Early in life when clearances are tighter, not a problem in that moment. A pretty easy way to test that theory is try a shear stable oil of a bit higher viscosity. That is if you are using a 5W30 GF6 oil try something like Castrol Edge Euro 5W30 ACEA C3/C4. If you are worried it may clean it out to good then a synthetic 0W40 or 5W40 with the Porsche A40 certification. Walmart carries Castrol Euro in both grades for about $26 for a 5 quart jug. IF you just want to test the filter idea change just that with the low pressure light comes on. If it corrects it, filter is loading fast and if not the viscosity is breaking down. Your not looking to change your oil religion just testing the hypothesis.
  23. That would depend on which of the various flavors of either you traded between. If they are equivalent DEXOS1Gen2/3/ILSAC GF6/ACEA C2 then they would be about the same. If that trade from one of the above was for a DEXOS2/ACEA C3/C4 you would have traded up. These have higher minimum HTHS viscosity values than the SAE *W30 values. More wear protection. Kind of important for a 3500 towing, right? Just say'n. Doesn't this statement say, and yes, I'm asking, not telling, that the only important parameter is milage in determining the useful life of oil? Or at minimum, that without exception, 3,750 miles will always shows "barely used". In addition, Blackstone does not test for 1.) Oxidation 2.) Nitration. It does not routinely include 3.) TAN. Which you kind of need to condemn on TBN. They use some rather crude tests for water, fuel & glycol. And quite concerning I see among the hundreds of test I looked at a surprising array of viscosity measurements outside SAE standards considered Okay. Oh and they mix test types for viscosity outside standards. SUS at 40C ??, Instead of cSt. ? Now, all that said...What parameters is oil condemned on? And what agreement is there between labs on the exact levels for same. What basis in SCIENCE is there for those values? i.e. One lab condemns on a TBN of 1, another at 3, another at 50% or even 60% of the baseline. (which is often assumed instead of measured) Another at the TAN/TBN crossing point? Which method does the FACTS and SCIENCE support? Hint, Regulation and Social Peer Pressure are currently overriding Facts and Truth. Most labs don't measure Oxidation. Those that do, some condemn on 10 abs units over baseline. Some on 20-25 or even 30 units absent baseline. Oxidation is kind of important. How many routinely measure cleanliness? Just raising questions and offering observations.
  24. Roughly $3.00 here.
