  1. Add two holes to the 2.7, make 450+hp and I’d be in for it as a 6.2 substitute. Butter smooth turbo straight 6, it would be the BMW of the truck world. You know there’s room under the hood since they put the D-Max 6 in. Don’t care about complication, owning any modern vehicle out of warranty is of no interest to me.
  2. The Fram Ultra is one of the best filters on the market, if not the best. I use them on all of the vehicles I maintain. The orange Extra Guard cans are the crap that soiled the Fram name, but the rest of their lineup is solid.
  3. 18k miles. Truck sticker was 61k. Not looking to get rid of it until a worthy replacement is introduced anyway. The offer just seemed light considering some guys with LTs and RSTs are right in that ballpark. Does seem like a no brainer for some if they can get into something else at a good price, or ride out the wave until things normalize.
  4. Seems like the higher trims are taking a beating. Re-ran Carvana, $45,400 on my LTZ. What a rip. KBB trade-in range is $46-49k. Why would I sell it for less and lose the tax benefit too.
  5. Grumpy’s is the exact type of argument I’d expect from someone who still has no real world evidence masks are doing anything. If there was, he would post that instead of drawing parallels that don’t exist. But stick with it, you almost had me with the asbestos comparison! Every time I see those professional remediation guys, they are wearing masks made from old t-shirt scraps. Or maybe those Chinese surgical masks. Not. And calling people stupid always works too! You really learned us! Many places are now specifying that asymptomatic people do not / should not be tested. Wonder why?
  6. Dragy performance module. dragy 10Hz GPS Based Performance Meter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077KKPMTB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_yp7rFbG63D2Y2
  7. My Roto-Fab shaved around 2 tenths off 60. It’s a measurable difference however not necessarily a noticeable difference. I was in the 5.7 second range with the stock intake (but with the catback). Never had a chance to baseline it totally stock but I would guesstimate it being 5.8-5.9. Motor Trend’s 19 6.2 HC took 6 seconds if I recall correctly. Their numbers seem to be more “real world” I guess,
  8. I have the GM catback and a Roto-Fab intake, and the max trailer package with 3.42s. This is the best I could ever manage on the street. Most runs were 5.5-5.6. C&D tends to get really optimistic 0-60 numbers, and 5.3 secs in a HC with stock exhaust and 3.23s is impossible in my book. The advantage the EB would have is that you can actually boost launch. Any type of brake torquing on these trucks makes them fall on their ass. Real world it would probably be a coin flip IMO. I’d like my chances.
  9. Specifically, GM was sued over the 2014-2015 GMC headlights. The Silverados weren’t much better but were not a part of the suit.
  10. The sound is a big part of the experience. That’s why I wouldn’t buy an EB F150. Sure, in the hottest form they are quicker than the 6.2 but they sound terrible. Speaking of the experience, the illusion of speed is really blunted on these trucks anyway. They are very quick by any standard. But you have such a high driving position and isolated feel that you can’t really tell. Had a 96 6 speed LT1 Camaro that was slower than my truck to 60 but felt so much quicker. They did make a lot of dynamic improvements to the T1 but it’s still a truck. And the moral of the story...fast trucks are kinda pointless but I still like em.
  11. For what it’s worth, these reports have tapered off quite a bit from what they were. And there was never a huge inrush of 2020s leaking like the 2019s. A handful, sure, but I don’t think I’d be losing sleep if I bought a 2020, and even less a 2021 if they ever hit lots.
  12. I usually drive it to the dealer and eat free popcorn. If you want to DIY on the cheap with a good Dexos approved oil...go to Advance Auto Parts, look on their clearance shelf. Rotella Gas Truck was recently discontinued. I bought them out here, but I bet lots of the stores still have the 0w20 you would need. It was roughly $12 for a gallon jug, and around $3 each for a quart bottle. Can’t beat that no matter what. Otherwise Walmart has always good prices on M1. Just not THAT good.
  13. Perfect job for the kid. Not gonna lie my neck was a little sore after the job. It’s easy but not the most comfortable task. I went to 85 top and bottom FWIW.
  14. I couldn’t find the T1 spec so just used the K2 spec. 85 ft-lbs, and a bit of blue Loctite. Been just fine since April.
  15. I agree, but unfortunately I have to watch the news. The mob is burning everything to crap 10 miles south of me in Kenosha. Who knows where they will migrate next. Governor was nice enough to tell them to be safe and wear masks as they riot. Okay to ruin innocent people’s livelihoods, as long as you don’t spread a mostly harmless virus while doing so. Wonder how the genius liberals here will feel when the virus wasn’t the end of the world, like they said it would be. But their own mob was.
  16. Interesting. At any rate, the feature is much better suited to smaller displacement engines in terms of drivability. The Terrain and Malibu I’ve had as loaners did not have auto stop defeat switches and it was fine, hardly noticed the auto stops. A 6.2 V8 does not start as quickly, quietly or smoothly as a 1.5 turbo. There is a slight rough idle following restarts and I just don’t like it unless there’s a substantial fuel savings (as in long lights or my drive-thru example). Thankfully they did add the switch to disable to our trucks. I think there will come a time when it’s no longer defeat-able. I could see buying a module to kill the feature at that point. Until then the switch is fine by me.
  17. It’s a 7 passenger SUV with fairly good off-road credentials for a stock vehicle. In contrast, the Corvair’s only off-road ability was skidding off the road and killing people. Comparing the two is idiotic.
  18. Motor Trend recorded .72 g on the same truck; Tahoe Z71, on 33” Trailrunners. A trim level and tire package that is not designed for autocross to say the least. Just in the interest of fairness.
  19. If you want to match the factory frame coating it’s Daubert Nox-Rust, available online. Good for touching up yearly everywhere on the frame. The issue with Amp steps on these trucks is that not all cabs have the preferred set of holes to place the rear brackets in. Ideally you’d mount the rear bracket in holes that are about 6-8” forward of the rearmost holes. That allows the hinge to clear that body mount easily. I got lucky on mine and had those holes, but a lot of trucks don’t.
  20. SLT and up all use the same “High Intensity” LED headlights. SLE and Elevation have “regular” LED headlights. Only the most trained eye would spot the difference between the HC and lower trimmed LED headlights. I can’t imagine spending that kinda cash on the swap.
  21. I dropped 2 tenths to 60 with the Roto-Fab so I would say their claims add up. The GM intake is more conservatively designed it seems. The ribbed intake tube and the dry filter eat up some of the gains that otherwise would be had.
  22. What’s the cost difference between an SLT vs Denali on the 8-10 year notes people like to get? Not enough to worry about.?? For a lot of people, what they can afford has nothing to do with what they buy anyway. Must be more to it...
  23. They only deleted the split bench that didn’t have storage underneath or in the armrest. They should have never made that in the first place. 40/20/40 is now standard with storage. All is well in the world.
  24. Column shift will be hard for me to let go of, but you know change is coming at some point. I think functionally the current interior is real good. I like the layout. Screen is (I guess) small by today’s standards but it’s very responsive and easy to work. The overall ho-hum fit and finish, and lack of character is disappointing for the price I paid. But the benefits outweighed the negatives for me. Dynamically the T1 is a hundred times better. People piss and moan about the tune-ability but fail to mention that these trucks don’t really need it. Not compared to a clunky, lazy K2 with obnoxious AFM and god awful transmission tuning. Features are also much improved. HUD, camera mirror, keyless go, heated rear seats with normal vents, etc. I would buy my truck again, but not right now. Too damn close to the refresh. I plan to trade in 2022, but if something changes I’d also be fine keeping this truck for many years. So I guess the short answer is yes.
  25. I’ve bought most of my accessories from shopchevyparts, probably 3k worth. BedRug, exhaust, kicker sub, lighted emblem, etc etc. Never a problem. Stuff always came quick and as expected. ?
