  1. Go to Youtube and search for “6.6 Duramax Ute” Those Australians shoving new 6.6L diesels into Japanese trucks are onto something.
  2. If you don’t see the oil in your plastic intake tube (between air filter box and throttle body) from the valve cover breather hoses, you are fine. You can pop that off pretty quick to see if your truck has been eating oil coming from valve cover hoses. Causes detonation, poor fuel economy, carbon deposits on valves and heads.
  3. Aluminum wheels and driveshaft held up better than the steel.
  4. Current Class Action all us truck owners are a part of for this brake problem is: Scott Peckerar and Samantha Peckerar, et al., v. General Motors LLC. Whole lot of lawyers on both sides.
  5. Last year My 2016 was towing a new boat and brother in laws 2015 was towing a new camper. Both blew their fuses for the trailers lights during a rain storm down the highway at 65. We yanked all the plugs and put di-electric grease in all connections. Now blowing fuses for left rear trailer brake and turn signals in the 2015, in dry weather. We haven’t gone on a fishing-camping trip in the rain yet. But we both have a stockpile of fuses for this year now that we know its the TRUCKS electrical faults. Both trucks all grounds to frame removed, cleaned, reinstalled and covered in di-electric grease. It aint the boat or campers fault. GM’s.
  6. I have the GM block plugs for the oil lines. What belt did you use for the delete kit? Got a part number? I was waiting for warranty to run out to throw it on. Not waiting.
  7. PIT5405B & PIT5405C are the TSB #’s Grumpy. NHTSA ID #’s 10113356 & 10083324. You are wrong. Whole point of Zero Grade Oil is the hydraulic system running the lifters that collapse via solenoid for V-4 mode. Thick oil won’t collapse the lifters fast enough for V-4 mode without “problems”. I love me some WIX filters. Not a Motorcraft Fan though. Do you think people using Remote Location filters actually fill the filter with motor oil before screwing it on? I bet 9 out of 10 don’t.
  8. Picture of GM letter please. Block out your name.
  9. You have Zero weight motor oil. Means the oil is thin as water. Putting the oil filter up that high, will take awhile before that oil pump pumps it up there and eventually to running engine. I foresee your vacuum pump dying from starvation and your long block needing replaced when it grenades (shares oil with block). Freezing temp starts must seem like the battery is near dead as excessive amps are sucked thru the battery cables. Stock, GM has been replacing the battery cables via a TSB for excessive resistance due to no lubricant on the motor spinning parts in freezing weather during cranking. You have Zero weight oil. Ford Filters?
  10. Mine does it about every 2 months. GM replaced radio, didnt help. Its an electrical fault they cant find. The clock keeps the time...radio loses what you saved. Notta thing you can do about it, except trade for a Dodge. Does it make you mad the clock keeps the time but the radio forgets? So mad you wanna take a hammer to it? Join the club.
  11. When you floor it and the truck pauses for a few seconds trying to think what gear it should be in....then dropping to 1st and waaay too low of a gear..... Is GM providing you with negative feedback via psychology ... to train your brain to stop applying full throttle. hahaha......whoever wrote the transmission software should be dragged out and publicly flogged.
  12. Think so. Also an interesting note....GM changed the frequency from 315mhz to 433mhz in 2017....for your FOB and TPMS sensors. Cant use 2016....who knew?
  13. Read the last post in this thread: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/158307-work-truck-remote-starter-without-keyless-entry/
  14. go to this link..click gmc.....then sierra. select 2014-2016 see Note#1, requires a special box cuz of GM factory antitheft system http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.aspx
  15. As you can read there....both the 5.3 and 6.2 have this problem. If reliability is a concern....note GM dropped the powertrain warranty from 5yr/100,000 miles to 3yr/60,000 miles in 2016. They are cutting their losses.....you should too.
  16. Go back to your dealership with this and tell them to replace what they were supposed to, or buy the truck back: link https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/SB-10078567-7690.pdf
  17. Welll....it could get ugly....what will they give you on Trade in?
  18. Find a mechanic willing to replace just that bad lifter. Unless you have $3500 laying around to pay GM for a simple lifter job ....with no warranty it wont happen again.
  19. $46 for a lifter...$44 for head gaskets....both AC DELCO. Couple hours to put it in.
  20. I have the wonderful Io3 radio and bought a XM radio and kit from Walmart...worked awesome for a couple days...then lost activation and only channel 1.. Had them reset the signal 4 frekin times ....how I fixed it.. wiggled the cigarette lighter socket plug for the XM radio in the fold down console....think it has a weak ground.... Adding a ground wire tomorrow to that socket
  21. Can you disable Stabyltrak and see if that corrects your problem? Computer may be causing your problem with Stabyltrak....causing your motor to cut out...possibly shifting errors as well..slipping your 6L80 trans.....could be from a bad sensor...ground...software... If that fixes your problem...only keep it on in bad weather.
  22. When State budgets get tight again I think we will see cops writing tickets for those lights. Not DOT approved. Around here there are people getting silly with those lights....matter of when the cops get orders to bust em for State revenue.
  23. Look on Ebay for rear axles for 2014+ Silverado-Sierras.....pretty crazy how many crashed ones with super low miles are out there..........likely over this electrical issue........loss of control of vehicle while moving.
  24. There is a Vacuum sensor on the brake booster. When low vacuum is detected, it disables AFM....it should flash on the dash that you are SCREWED if the computer detects low vacuum.....I dont think it would be hard for someone to design an aftermarket Vacuum gauge and tie into that sensor. Lots of us would buy them.
