  1. You Canadian priks. You get a recall when Americans dont. Damn chinese parts killin us both.
  2. Ask Melling. They make the lifters. They say allllllll the failures are from oil pressure dropping below....read: https://www.melling.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Melling-tech-bulletin-on-GM-LS-Deactivation-Lifter-Issues-3.1.18-1.pdf
  3. Check “PCM B” fuse in fusebox. If you stick in another one and it pops, stop. Electrical short.
  4. Polaris Razors were catching on fire. If somebody wanted to burn their house down, just put a Polaris Razor in the garage. Whalla. I see opportunity for Canada. Turn on your rear window defrosters.... Is it a criminal act? No. Paid $50,000 for a truck with a bloody window defroster.
  5. PCM turns on and off the alternator for charging. Per specs on a factory battery and expected load use. In the old days, the alternator stayed on charging the battery as long as the key was on. They CEASED lowering the voltage to the wire to energize the alternator and now just flick it off with the PCM and why your trucks voltage meter jumps between 12 and 14 while driving. For a few years they were lowering the voltage to the alternator to keep the gauge at 14 volts while running ...yet lowering amp output. Now...”Fuel Economy” pipe dreams of savings. They just flick it off so your electrical components like electric steering and amps have to deal with voltage fluctuation. If we had the old school headlights this would be a major issue of lights dimming and getting bright. Why we have LED headlights now. Computer controls voltage to them, not battery or charging system voltage.
  6. Report the incident to the NHTSA and CoreyWatson dot com who is the Lawfirm for the Federal Class Action. Failure to file a NHTSA Complaint, your experience did not happen. Only about 200 have filed NHTSA complaints, likely less than 10% of people it happened to.
  7. Contact Attorneys at coreywatson dot com. They are doing the Federal Class Action for the vacuum pump.
  8. Replace the PCM B fuse. 20 amp. If it pops, stop. Dealer will replace fuel pump. Plug melted to fuel pump because of a short. Rain. If PCM B fuse is fine, put jumper cables on it and try starting.
  9. Delete this before I have to call SECDEF.
  10. Stop putting mileage on it. More you drive it, less GM has to pay you.
  11. GM recycled the “LT” name, but Gen V is indeed LS. Email Melling. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LS_based_GM_small-block_engine
  12. In the old days, 12 volts was sent to alternator to kick on charging system when key turned on. Resulted in overcharging of batteries. PCM now cycles alternator on and off to keep from boiling the battery off. 0 weight oil in Cali in hot temps getting low oil pressure....no fear. You can get a 5.3 with 20k miles from a crashed truck on Ebay for $2k. Keep trusting GM and just drive it. Insufficient Oil Pressure= AFM lifter failures via the Melling Bulletin from last year. They make the collapsible lifters for 4 cylinder shut down. https://www.melling.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Melling-tech-bulletin-on-GM-LS-Deactivation-Lifter-Issues-3.1.18-1.pdf Read what Melling says oil pressure is supposed to be.
  13. I think you hold down the “Tow-Haul” button for 7 seconds to disable “Grade Braking” and stop the downshifting issue.
  14. https://youtube.com/watch?v=cwAmoPHnxG8 Ground wire by the windshield pillar. Factory shrink wrap blocking a good connection.
  15. They eliminated RPO codes in the glovebox so in a few years they can charge shops access to the “scannable” code. Data aint free.
  16. Don’t let GM hide this! People have died.
  17. Immediately contact Attorney at coreywatson dot com. There is a Federal ClassAction in Texas, and one in California over the chinese brake vacuum pump failing on 2014-2016 trucks. You give them proof newer than 2016 has the same vacuum pump problem..THE SHOW will be epic. You must also complain to NHTSA as there is also a Federal Investigation...and Warren Buffett is pizzd he’s losing his keister with Geico crash claims on these trucks. https://www.corywatson.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/GM-Brake-Booster-.-Doc-1-Class-Action-Complaint-00506737xBCD99.pdf Texas, dont know who his lawyer is...but Texas Court will fold for GM: https://www.classaction.org/media/harris-v-general-motors-company.pdf Both suing for full buy back.
  18. Bad as the gimmick in the 90’s when the military was using rolls of toilet paper and Bounty paper towels in canisters on their vehicles for oil and hydraulic filters. Somebody made money off it. Sure they ran. For awhile.
  19. Data is relative to the Observer. Nobody drives at the same temperature, elevation, wind speed, or even constantly on a flat road. Thus data for MPG....is only relative to the Observer. BTW GrumpyBear, Mythbusters has been proven wrong more than once. For amusement purposes only.
  20. Draft Semi’s on the highway. 20-40% increase in mpg. Gasoline is E15 now. Googling says, a 1.5% mpg loss..or 0.3mpg loss. We all have to see if it is true over the next few months.
  21. Please keep us updated. I have been following this issue for a few years. Pretty scary having the Electric Power Steering try to break your wrists and steer the truck straight when trying to turn.
  22. sheit...my 4 warnin points was for the nicest thing I ever typed

  23. Err I put K&N breathers on my valve covers and get Zero carbon. Still complies with GM’s PCV emission patent/EPA...bad stuff aint supposed to come up from valve cover breathers since the PCV valve on the intake is suckin IN To doubt such defeats GM’s Patent and EPA Regulations.

  25. I watch Video’s of all these Camaro guys tweaking their motors and they will take a coolant thermostat and drill a hole in it. So if the thermostat sticks, the motor won’t overheat. One guy had his thermostat spring bend sideways and seize in Florida...kept driving in traffic merely thru the coolant going thru the hole they drilled that kept the motor from overheating. So I drilled a hole in the thermostat like they do. Something goes wrong I can swap it before the dealer sees it. Juz google it. You will see lower temperatures towing. I did.
