  1. This thread is about the 8-speed and no talks of the 6-speed that has been around since 2007.
  2. TPMS tool. $10 on Amazon, done.
  3. I'll just leave this here: https://jalopnik.com/why-most-led-headlight-upgrades-dont-really-work-an-ex-1843070472 Now my factory LED's rock, but LED's in a halogen housing are a very different story, as described in the link...
  4. If you like a stock front end with some greasy hand prints on the bumper:
  5. GM is releasing wireless Android Auto and CarPlay: https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/04/gm-begins-rollout-for-wireless-apple-carplay-android-auto/ Not sure what the HMI version will be, so I am calling it 3.5. There is a thread rolling around - with an unfulfilled vendor promise - of going from 2.5 to 3.0. Though an upgrade, it isn't the upgrade going to wireless AA/CP will be. This kind of upgrade might actually make the wireless charger useful! Any vendors in the beginning stages of doing this? I'm willing to spend some money on this upgrade.
  6. Had a meeting run short yesterday, so I decided to do the swap. The aftermarket eBay unit fits and looks identical to OEM. Such a dumb design that they could put a couple small access holes in the brackets to allow for this to be done without removing the bumper. Really, the only pain in the butt part is removing the painted piece between the grill and the bumper itself (as you are doing everything possible not to break plastic or scratch it); the rest is cake - just a lot of bolts to remove.
  7. No idea. I'm just saying because the P/N isn't the same, or even if it says it isn't compatible, doesn't make it so.
  8. Different P/N has zero impact of whether it will or will not fit. A slightly different style or minor update can create a different P/N.
  9. Also front parking assist, LED headlamps, trailer brake controller (unless bought as a separate line item), spray in bed liner (again, unless bought as a separate line item). I saw several packaged at dealers that were Premium units with several stand-alone options to like buckets and Bose to get it like the Premium Plus but the price ended up not being much less once optioned out that way.
  10. That means you have a down level SLT, not an up level one. The base and premium packages didn't have the power sliding window. Could only be had on the Premium Plus (or Denali, of course).
  11. So the new unit matches perfectly in color. I was going to install it today, but discovered there are 4 challenging bolts (all are 7mm). Two can be dealt with, the other two are impossible to get to without removing the bumper. To do that, you have to remove the grille, so I might as well upgrade to a Denali one while I am at it and do everything at once. Too bad; would have been a 15 minute swap otherwise.
  12. Yet I'm far from it. You sound like someone that qualified for a stimulus check. Some of us make too much to get a government handout.
  13. There you go thinking it looks better. I wouldn't be caught driving that thing. There is a stereotype that having a Brodozer is compensation for certain things not being of correct dimensions on ones self.
  14. Just because ricers love big wings, ugly body kits and other tacky crap doesn't mean it isn't tasteless. Same goes for Brodozers - you will always find others that like your gaudy ride. If you want to see a stock looking SLT, I can post a picture. It's a truck; I need it for towing my boat, Lowes runs, long trips (which typically have the boat behind it) and snowy weather. Otherwise it stays parked.
  15. Good to see the racist comes out of you freely. My truck looks stock; if you think having a Brodozer looks better, congrats. Being a Trump fan would be especially embarrassing. Though Texas seems to be one of his biggest supporting states... Not at all - if it is functional. Wheels way past the fenders that just kick up rocks and serve no off road purpose, no. 2WD doing it for looks that will never go off road is the definition of poser. So every Denali Ultimate or other K2 that options the factory 22" wheels should be embarrassed?
  16. I would personally be embarrassed to lift a 2WD truck, but do what you like. Poser for sure. But then you have all these Brodozers running around that have less off roading capability than stock, so there is that...
  17. I ordered this and it arrived today: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Skid-Plate-Front-for-GMC-Sierra-1500-Truck-2016-2019-GM1015122-23243493/233312813534?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I haven't held it next to the stock one yet, but from a first glance it looks like a match. I probably won't get around to installing it for a few days but hopefully it has an OEM fit. Feels OEM quality at least.
  18. That's what the rubber ridged thing in the center console is for. I have a short USB-C cord that plugs in, it sits in the rubber thing and doesn't move. GM put it there for a reason so you wouldn't need a mount.
  19. Seats are independent of HVAC settings (other than the heated seats coming on when it is cold out and you remote start). Turn on the seat (with ignition on, truck off) and see if you can hear the ventilation fan. If not, it's an '18 - make the dealer fix it.
  20. Retrofit HMI 2.5 so you can have Android Auto / CarPlay. Plug directly into USB, use head unit to control what you need. No reason to have a mount in these trucks.
  21. Ignore the dust- that's before I cleaned under the plate:
  22. 5 month bump...any progress on this?
  23. Doing some additional research, it appears this piece is called a "Skid Plate" which really isn't an accurate term for the piece, but whatever. I've found three part numbers: 23243492 - This is the Denali chrome piece. I (unfortunately) have chrome bumpers, so this would look awful 23243493 - This is referred to as "paint to match". 23243494 - Black, grained. It seems this is referenced as the base model unit and doesn't really look like my stocker This one on eBay looks close: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Skid-Plate-Front-for-GMC-Sierra-1500-Truck-2016-2019-GM1015122-23243493/233312813534?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649] I'd prefer an OE piece, but it is just plastic and it doesn't appear anything matches OE unless I go with the 23243493, and getting the piece paint matched is more invested in work than I'd like. Thoughts?
  24. Okay, maybe I am more picky than some, but I drilled out the rivets on Tuesday, pull the bracket and the 4 holes look like total crap. Not sure how everyone else had two as mine had 4 and 3 of them didn't want to come out nicely. So again, anyone have the P/N? I could order 4 bumper plugs, but all the decent ones are $20+ that could go toward fixing this correctly.
  25. Anyone have a P/N? The one pictured above is for a HD truck which is likely different as the front end is different (and didn't get the '16 update). Further, those numbers pictured didn't cross reference anything. I need to get this ordered in the next week or so.
