  1. The Bose isn't great but still sounds better than the non-Bose system, so I'm not sure why you would be pleased. The Harmon Kardon system in my 11 year old BMW sounds better for sure.
  2. You are too dense to get it, but I'll respond for those that might read your drivel and actually think it is meaningful. - No, 0W20 won't blow up your engine. - Yes, 0W20 in a number of use cases may INCREASE WEAR ON YOUR ENGINE - No, that wear will not likely cause an issue DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD. You know, the timeline GM actually cares about If for a second you don't think GM would give up 50k miles of average engine life to bump their CAFE rating 1/2 a point, you are just plain nuts. It's smart business. Why is GM suggesting a different weight for what is basically the same motor on their performance cars? Cars that are much lower volume and don't impact the whole like their bread and butter trucks/SUV's? THINK and respond, don't just respond. THINK as to why they would do that. Use logic and reasoning, not "because it says so on the label."
  3. This isn't the "older days" and GM uses the same fuel system components now Flex Fuel or not on these trucks.
  4. I read the entire thread and your statement. What's on the cap is for GM to meet corporate fuel mileage goals and not necessarily what is best for the engine. Do you understand?
  5. No, you likely don't. And don't understand WHY GM recommends a different viscosity (emissions). GM sells a lot more trucks/SUV's than Vettes and Camaro's...which somehow the Camaro gets the same motor but left out of the discussion.
  6. Sure you can. Retrofit a flex fuel sensor and a tune. Has been done many times.
  7. Or just hit the hot spot widget on my main screen of my phone. That costs me nothing every month.
  8. My UltraFlex isn't cheap or flimsy. It isn't as robust as the factory covers on my previous Avalanche and Escalade EXT...and there is no cover sold from anyone that is as durable/rigid (and trust me, I looked). There isn't anything cheap feeling about it. That previous poster is full of crap and I'm more than happy to call out a company on their junk and understand good vs crap quality products. I will say it doesn't seal well at the back corners of the tailgate and the front foam seal is a joke (though easily/cheaply replaced).
  9. Hand helds are a joke. Do it right with HP Tuners...which you can use for multiple vehicles over a number of years. I've shared HP tuners with my good friend in North Carolina - we just mail the unit back and forth as needed. With HP tuners, you can download whatever tune you want and run it. No need for a dyno. You can also fix simple stuff not available on a hand held. I always hated how GM setup tow mode and its great for making small (and easy to DIY) changes/tweaks. Just do it right - it isn't that expensive. You can spend 40k+ on a truck but have to half ass it with some hand held for something as important as the motor/transmission. No thanks.
  10. I didn't realize it was even a slow charger - even worse. That's REALLY pointless then as those take forever to charge. Goes back to if you are already pulling the phone out might as well plug it in and get the advantages of Android Auto. I have a 1ft USB-C cable attached to the port 24x7 just to hook up the phone to the truck. You can find phone mounts with fast wireless charging; had one in my Escalade EXT and it worked well. But I needed it to see my phone for Waze, Sirius and Spotify - all things that are unnecessary now with Android Auto.
  11. I find the wireless charger pretty pointless. Yes, it works in my '18, charging my wife's S7 Edge and my G7 ThinQ. But it's pointless, since to use Android Auto you have to hard wire. If I'm pulling my phone out of my pocket, I'm just going to plug it in there. OEM's aren't offering wireless Android auto quite yet (it is available in Android, so in 2-3 years Apple CarPlay will have it and Apple Fanboi's will tell you that Apple invented it). Once OEM's adopt the wireless Android Auto, then the wireless charging makes a lot of sense. I had it in my last truck as a wireless charging cell phone mount, but that was so I could see the phone as it didn't have Android Auto. That made sense - in this truck, pointless.
  12. Before I start searching for a '18 Denali cluster for my SLT, does anyone know if the '19 Denali cluster is a plug-and-play fit AND if it can be programmed to work on a '18? Dash is similar for sure. I asked about the Escalade cluster but is more work than I'd be willing to do. I figured if I'm going to do this, I'd like to go beyond just a Denali cluster if possible. Otherwise the search for the cheapest '18 cluster I can get begins.
  13. I don't use rabbit ears on my TV and certainly don't listen to terrestrial radio (I can't imagine why anyone would - much better content elsewhere). As such, AM/FM reception is 100% useless. Any good either short antennas or antenna delete setups out there? I don't want to just unscrew it and have a threaded post sticking out. I'm not sure why these trucks are in the stone ages with a floppy metal antenna anyway, as it isn't necessary to get decent AM/FM reception.
  14. I was able to upgrade to the older cupholder setup almost by mistake. Ordered the GM Synthesis interior kit to get rid of the awful fake wood trim. That kit ends up being the '14-15 center console setup. After selling my fake wood trim, it was a fairly cheap upgrade. One thing of note, is the top of the cup holder on the Synthesis kit is black, matching the black on the console. My stock top was the metal silver top matching the dash trim. It is a bit of a pain to swap them out but I was able to do it as I wasn't willing to lose my metal on my cup holder.
  15. I just installed my UltraCover Ultra Flex. Why did I go with this one? - Vinyl covers look cheap...because they are. Same goes for the vinyl folding covers. - Full one-piece covers are a pain in the butt. Pass - Roll ups are nice, but the canister takes up a lot of space AND have issues with ice That left a hard folding cover. Any cover that requires or recommends you lift the cover to close the tailgate is a joke - period. There is no reason for that BS. That takes a number of covers out of the market, including Gator's entire lineup. I liked the Lomax/WeatherTech cover, but it won't fold up to the cab, so that was a no-go. Then it ended up leaving me with the BAK or UltraCover higher end covers. BAK has a worse reputation for quality. I ended up finding an Amazon Warehouse deal, so at $735 shipped, it was a no brainer:
  16. It sounds like you are trying to connect your truck to your Verizon stand-alone WiFi hot spot. Questions: - Can any other device connect to it? - Why do you have this device instead of just using a WiFi hot spot on your phone?
  17. Just came from a '07 Escalade EXT and it did NOT do this. That said, not a big deal. Everyone keeps mentioning saving the battery or alternator wear..that's not why this is done at all. Fuel mileage is why they do it.
