The kit from GM comes with the switch that goes in the cab to the left of the steering wheel, next to the cargo light if you have them. You'll also have to pay a dealer to "flash" your computer, can be up to $200 I've heard. Or, you can do what the guy in the above video did, and "tap" them in to your existing lights at no extra cost.

I got my ham ticket a little while ago and haven't used it much. About 2 months ago we took a roadtrip, about 400 miles each way, tuned my handheld to the "highway channel" for hams ( 146.52 ) and I didn't hear a single click in 8+ hours of interstate driving. However, the CB in my area (NEFLA) is fairly active. It's not quality conversation, but at least there's activity out there, and it is useful in traffic. I was thinking about something like this: Or maybe something in the bed. Any thoughts from the experts?

Come'on good buddy! Has anyone installed a CB radio or Ham radio in the new 2019s+? I have a jump seat and there's more than enough space in the middle there to mount one. For a mag-mount antenna, is the roof aluminum?

Has anyone done that? I've had that question and wanted to know if that was possible, enough amps, etc. Also, if they're wired to the low beams, do they turn off when you turn on your high beams?

I don't know if this has been posted or not, I admit I haven't read each page, but just about If you want to use your phones internal assistant instead of GMs you can! Press and hold the speaker button the steering wheel. You'll hear the "bloop" prompt from your phone over your trucks speakers. This will open your default assistant on your phone (google or alexa). From there you can do anything you would as if you were saying "OK Google, how far is the moon" (without saying OK google). Of course you can also tell it do "dial john doe" but more importantly this comes in handy when you're on a long drive and there's a debate going on "<bloop> Are there more McDonalds or subways in the world?"

Thanks, I'll try that. It's possible it's an issue with my camera. If it gets power it comes on right away, but if the power "flickers" (like when starting the truck on some fuses) it shuts off. I'll try it though. Thanks!

Nice setup, very similar to mine, except I don't have a rear camera. What fuse did you hook it to? My camera shuts off every time the auto-start comes back on. It thinks it's getting plugged back in, it's pretty sensitive. I tried the fuse with the radio, but because the radio starts up when you open the door, the camera then shuts off when I turn the truck on.

Yep, this is exactly how mine fit. I was hoping they would tie in to the to screws facing the tire (the black ones in your picture). I'll have to keep an eye on the area, I suspect mud and other crap is going to build up there pretty quick. I can't complain too much, I got them for $88 last week on amazon (looks like they're $109 now).

Just got these and installed them. Does anyone else have a little "gap" near the bottom of them where the "mud flaps" are connected? The instructions didn't say anything about connecting them to that area, and mine seem a little long.

Yep, those were the buttons I was trying. How can I tell if I have an "HD Camera" or not?

On my 2019 LT, the dimmer button does nothing to the screen when the backup camera is on. When I put it in drive, the "regular" screen (radio, climate, etc) respects my dimmer settings, but whenever the backup camera is up and I'm in reverse, it's full on stadium lighting. Pretty annoying, my wifes 2016 Malibu adjusts with the dimmer, and that's an LT also.

I had a similar issue. I was unable to remote-start my truck, when I got in I had a "check engine light" on. It stayed on for about 3 or 4 starts. Took it to the dealer a few days later and he said he was able to see the light came on, and it was a "communication error." He had no idea what that meant though ? He did say all he can do is keep it here until it reproduces again. I haven't seen it since, been about a month now.

My little velcro trick seemed to work. I cut a 2" piece of velcro and used the "soft" side of it. Stuck it on the window and no more noise! I tested opening and closing the window while watching the track and it doesn't interfere. I went with 2", but you could probably go for the length of the track, but if the window is open, you probably wont hear anything anyway.

This is not very scientific, but I've noticed this happening lately too. I'm in North Florida (Southern border of GA, a few hard freezes a year, some frost, etc) and since it's been cooler it hasn't seemed to auto stop. Again, not scientific, but that's what I've been noticing.

I'm inclined to think it's the cable housing rattling on the back window (like in the picture above). I think everything else that people are doing, like folding seats, having a passenger back there, or folding the headrests, is just changing the weight on the backrest and causing it not to rattle. My plan is to wedge something small between the cable and the window. If that works I'll stick some velcro on the window (only the window, soft side) and hopefully that cures it. If not, I'll really be stumped. I'll report back with results.

So glad I found this thread, this has been driving me crazy. To summarize, it's not the jack and not the passenger seatbelt (in my case anyway). I also have a power sliding rear window so I suspect that's it. Please post any solutions you come up with. I'm going to tackle this on the weekend if no one comes up with something. Not sure what yet

Good question, I'd love to to know the answer to this. Because I've heard that the fog lights don't come on when you use the high beams. Whereas if you wired it to the headlights, they would always be on if the headlights are on. I would prefer that.

Agreed! If there was a "manual tailgate" as an option I would have sought it out. Seems like a very gimmicky feature. Do you know what your dad had done, and has it worked since they did whatever they did? I'm looking for a solution.
