  1. Can you please buy a Jack ... This scares me.
  2. 1996 90 something s10 Blazer 4x4.. I know we flipped the 100k Mile counter over 4 times. It just went on and on.. only issue it ever had was 5th gear torn out of it like 4 times. But was a easy fix.
  3. OMG!! I told her to stop following Strangers home.. Can you please return her to me , I will give you a finders / Return reward of 1.00 ahh Just be sure you wash and wax her on your way.. Nice looking Truck I love the Color...But I am not a 4 door Truck Kinda Chic .
  4. I seen something about being able to hold the break and gas paddle on the floor as you start it , Might turn this feature off. I think is was on a thread about the dealer procedure to run the trucks so many hours sitting still non stop to check for the Valve spring issue.
  5. Do you tow or haul heavy loads with your Truck? 30 k seems quite early for fluid and filter change
  6. they are still working fine now.. But if you can get a part to solve this its a much better fix , My van is a 2004 3500hd that has worked every day of its life. If the locks and latches failed i would have them replaced all together. But like i said the van is Old but i hate to trade up because it does not have none of this stupid tech that breaks much to easily.
  7. This is likely the reason. are these rod mounts mounted with plastic retainers , or something else that can be tightened or replaced. I have had a similar issue several times with the back doors on my Work Van. They get opened locked and unlocked Many times each day. I have adjusted them beyond there adjustment rods by slightly bending the rods to take up the slack due to all the parts being worn . Hope this helps.. I do myself wish my new Truck had a handle instead of the electric thing. But i suspect its going to be a issue down the Road . Technology does not move everything forward.
  8. then they are on the hook to rent you one. Happened to me a few times with a different Truck. Enterprise rental it was .
  9. These kind of issues happen across every brand, Every Vehicle on the market. Its Rear and Limited in the numbers who have the problems. This has been going on nearly forever. The big difference now is the Internet , Social Media and Web forums like this one. Access to millions of other people . Most of the time we never think about going online to brag about something that is working as it should, that is what we just expect. Its a Mechanical contraption forced to be controlled by way to many electronics chasing fuel and epa ratings not to mention fierce brand competition. If repaired properly it will be same as brand new. Maybe even better because you will have one or two Techs that are car people work on it. not a bunch of robots and robot like people on a assembly line just there to get a pay check. So sorry to hear about your Truck and its issues but like buying anything else they can happen and happen at any time. I think your lucky for it to be at so few miles which puts you in a better position to insure they take care of you properly at the Stealership and GM. My conclusion is these Trucks like all other trucks and brands are not all Doomed to fail most will be super reliable and last as long as they were designed to. Thank you for Reading .
  10. Tell her I said it was ok.
  11. Same engine in my Truck. if you open the hood and listen close to the top of the engine you will find its the Second High pressure fuel pump in combination with the stupid exhaust Valve thingie rattle noise.. not to mention the STUPID Leaking exhaust screens.. Mine has 2100 miles on it . My truck is a second vehicle . i do find it odd that you can not here the engine is running in my 2004 3500 HD Van . it has the 6.O High Output engine as its designed for Pulling Heavy Trailer. 235K MILES on it and it has NO tick knock Rattle squeak . Like brand new. i have had lots of trucks and Vans with 4.3 they seem to last forever
  12. Looks to much like a car to me.
  13. Maybe they are explaining the Diagnostic fee incorrectly. Some of the places such as the Tool Repair shop. Small lawn and yard equipment ships. Where we get our tools serviced at. Charge you a upfront Diagnostic / Hour Labor fee when you drop off the item for repair even if you have warranty on the item. Once they determine its a warranty covered repair they will give you your Diagnostic fees back . This is to insure you do not just use there services to find out what is wrong then take it someplace else or make the repair yourself after they tell you what is wrong for free. The Shop and dealership i use for cars you sign a form when you drop it off that says your responsible for diagnostic fee unless its covered by warranty . I never seen a dealership charge you these fees up front as they have your Vehicle and require you to pay if any money is owned before you can retrieve your Vehicle.. I would call dealership again and verify there exact policy . if they are asking you money to drop it off then maybe call GM Advisor to get them to help you out.. most important thing DO not work on or try to correct the issue yourself. I own a Home Renovation Company. Occasionally we will have something go wrong. a LEAKY Faucet or broken light switch to a door not latching perfectly. My warranty states very Clearly . We are to be called immediately when there is any issue , If the customer tries to make any REPAIRS They own the problem if it cost us because of there Workmanship for trying to fix themselves . Just my Two cents... OHH you can get further being nice then threatening lawsuit. Good Luck..
  14. The 4.3 engine has been this way from its inception. Its better now then previous years. I am not a car person but it has something to do with a 90 deg angle on the cylinder heads kept from the 350 engine when they at GM Decided lets just lop off two cylinders and call it a v6.. My explanation might be wrong ( I am not really a car chic) But i have had lots of 4.3 engines and its just what it is.. the new gen seems be way smoother.
  15. This is why i drive them until they are no longer Reliable then Donate to DAV . I buy what fits my Requirements not what I want. My Personal Vehicle is also my Back up or extra business Truck. I hate having to move things around or take stuff out of my Van to haul Lumber, Drywall and so on.
  16. If you are driving in l9 your doing more then just turning off the afm .your preventing torque converter from locking up .Maybe your noise is something in that area or system. I have a strange issue with my express van that nobody has ever been able to solve. They told me the same it is what it is unless it fails or gets worse as we just cant find a issue.. Its a random vibration noise on express way . Only does it when the van is not loaded. good thing its almost always loaded. These things get more and more complicated to squeeze more economy and less emissions which adds to finding these so called quirks I just wish people would stop buying trucks who do not need trucks so they were so stupidly over priced and complicated .
  17. Before i bought my Truck. I went to the dealership. I got the keys to the actual truck i would be purchasing. I drove it down the road and stopped in a big parking lot. I looked over the whole truck (had a car guy with me that pays close attention to everything. We drove the truck on the expressway , on a tiny road . thru town . I played with the radio seats mirrors. Looked under the hood and every inch of the body. Had it out for about a hour and a half. It had 4 miles on it. when i got back to the stealership with it it was like 32 miles. This is the point i went in and sat down and signed the papers. I knew the Fuel injection system was loud, it had stupid cheap tires on it. The suspension (shocks in my opinion ) are trash .It only has one usb port and that im not so happy about not having a manual tailgate latch. The so called resonator / stupid flap in the exhaust i also noticed . My POINT.. Well i think its self explained above .. Know what your buying before you buy it. if you decide you do not like it because of a quark it has . Just trade it in and move on . Good Luck with your Truck or new almost truck should you decide you cant live with the quarks of a Chevy. Grass is not greener no matter where you go. except Kentucky our grass is blue .(yeah we are all color blind apparently) Thanks for reading.
  18. you may be able to pull a fuse or relay related to the electric parking brake . My assumption is when this thing looses power it will release. as the manual says if its left on for prolonged amount of time it can cause the battery to drain. Gust a wild guess. Calling the Dealership is probably your best bed. on star if no dealer is available may be able to get it off as well .
  19. Sorry to bring back a old thread but . Just found this thread. What makes me laugh more and more is when i go into lumber yard, where you have to have a Contractor account and even big box stores and you see people who are obviously contractors or work on my Industry and loading plywood into there so called truck and it sticks 3 foot past the bed or a ladder laying on the tailgate and roof of a BRAND NEW DOUBLE CAB TRUCK. They obviously bought what they wanted not what they needed. I had to drive 70 miles to a Stealership in the middle of no place Indiana too get my 2020 Silverado Reg cab long bed. The trucks on the lots here are all Feet type steel wheels , Crank windows and so on. Mine has about all the options you can get in a WT Truck and cost more then some of the Custom double cab trucks. I would never buy a Pickup truck without a 8 foot bed. ohh and its 8ft 2 inches by the way. Lots of storage room behind the seats as well. I call it my Silver Unicorn truck because i have only seen one other in my area on the road.
  20. I would Completely agree with you. My Truck is somewhat of a unicorn on this forum. its 2020 Silver Silverado WT Reg Long Bed Work Truck. Its my Second Vehicle so it only has a bit over 2k On it. I drive it when i have my Express 3500HD (Giant Work Van) to full and i need to haul stuff. It it fairly equipped to be a WT Model. It seems to be flawless in my opinion . Perfect paint no odd or weird behavior or noises. Perfect paint and body panels and bed alignment . I pull two Separate trailers with it one is 12 foot double axle waste trailer. the other is smaller i use mostly to pick up materials and leave on job sites for trash when the customer just does not have room for a dumpster. Ohh I would love your truck more if you would stop Parking it in the grass ... Nice Truck..
  21. Consumer reports is right up there with Home advisor and Angie's list. I can go on and on to name more . They use ratings from the few legit complaints to discredit good brands and people. Home Advisor is probably closer to the model that Consumer Reports use. They charge on BOTH ENDS. BBB Is another that bad mouth any Business who does not Write them a check. Most people ask friends and relatives for product advice.. not a site you have to pay for , Well one would hope anyway.
  22. I have a WT with the same Engine and i see no need for more gears. I use mine regular to haul construction Materials and pull 14 foot trailer . To me the extra gears would just make the trucks computer hunt for the right gear(more then it already does) being only having 185 hp and like 320 ft lb of torque. My 3500hd Van with the 6l v8 on the other hand i wish it had a 10 speed transmission. Maybe it would make a few less 70.00 stops at the gas station as it never brakes 10 mpg. Its always LOADED with tools , materials and Ladders on top. The new Truck is to supplement the Vans .I use it mostly when I am spending the day doing estimates and meeting with Customers. I would say you should void riving that engine so high. Its not designed to be a hot rod. mine is a 2020 wt single cab long bed with trailer package convenience package and a few other options. I to get it at a stupid cheap price of 24k . its MSRP was 34.5 Mine is ice silver in color.
  23. Make him pay for it. I Bet he will not hit it a second time. They load pellets of tile. Mortar and often lumber and never damage nothing on my Trucks or Vans. My thinking is personal responsibility. Tell them they hit it they buy it , if they do not like the ideal let them load it by hand. Sorry to sound mean but its not that difficult. but getting a metal grill type tailgate might be the best answer , Like the ones for 5th wheel hitch
  24. For those who do not have the rubberized plastic liner in there. I think its just missing. I have a 2020 Silverado WT With convenience trailering and a few of the other lower end packages and it has rubber lines in all of the cup holders and in that useless upper dash hole . I wish they would have made a door for it.. I am going to 3d print some type of cover for mine when i get a chance . use it to keep receipts in .
  25. Law and insurance is simply a means to bring you back whole. If your truck was wrecked on the dealerships lot between the time you signed the paper and get into the truck and put that first mile on it. Your not entitled to a brand new Truck. you are entitled to getting your Truck repaired to its original working order. Remember at any time anybody can make a mistake. If it were you who hit someone (for what ever reason) You and your insurance company would would not have to give that person a BRAND NEW TRUCK. Only make them financially and physically whole... unless you have some type of extra GAP Insurance to pay for you to get a new car replacement ( I have it with State Farm for the first 4000 miles . you do not get a new truck unless you open your Purse Just think from both sides. I have been on both. Ohh and yeah its just a Truck . We use them until they wear out and buy new ones.. Thank you for reading and Reality is Reality
