  1. Sucks that this happens. The more electronics are use the more for potential issues. Not like days of old where everything was mechanical.
  2. This. Sounds great. Quiet while cruising and nice sound on the throttle.
  3. Oil Analyzers is AMSOIL's analysis program. The sample is sent to Polaris Labs. If you want a better report that goes more in depth let me know. More information here Synthetic Advantage ISO certified Oil Analysis
  4. Here is the UOA of our 2016 Suburbans 6L80E fluid when it went out on us at 81k miles.
  5. Needed some dirt to fill in around our new well. I could have used a little more and might go get it tomorrow. I didn't think this was going to be 2,500lbs of dirt. I must say, it road really nice. :)
  6. How far away is the closest retailer. You can look that up here. https://www.schaefferoil.com/retail-locations.html
  7. At least they are addressing the issue and fixing it. As for the rear window, that is a crap shoot it seems but let them know.
  8. As all stated above. No need to run it, just use a quality synthetic. There are more on the road that use a quality synthtetic with high mileage on them and no issue. To me this was needed back 30 years ago if not longer but not now with the quality of lubricants we have available. My 2002 Silverado had AMSOIL in it from day one and at over 200k when I sold it, ran great and I just used 5w-30 AMSOIL and at times 0w-20 to see how it effected the used oil analysis.
  9. Got the burb back. Runs and shifts great. They recommend to put 50 miles on it before taking on any major trips. So I'm in the process of doing that. I already installed the new tune on the ECU from Black Bear Performance to turn off the AFM and re-flashed the transmission just in case. I asked BBP what all they did but have not heard back. It has upgraded billet TC and VB and all parts from Sonnax. Fresh AMSOIL ATL. Took them 20qts and got 6qts back. I sent a sample of the old fluid in. Should be processed by the end of the week. Depends on when it will make it to the lab. Post office was closed so I went to UPS since I wanted to get it there quick. UPS is showing tomorrow the "May the 4th be with you". LOL I didn't get any pictures of the transmission torn down. One they got to it faster than I had anticipated and I also didn't want to be "that customer".
  10. Nice! There is a ZR2 on the lot here for $74k.
  11. Fair Share Tax?.
  12. No snow here, 82 for the high all week with lows in the 60's but we are in a moderate drought.
  13. Not necessarily, You get the benefit of better performance since timing can advance due to higher octane, also it burns cleaner and keeps the inside cleaner. Of all the used oil analysis I have seen, when E15 and up is used the analysis looks better. Also depending on the price difference from regular to E85 it can be a break even on cost or even less.
  14. Glad you got it take care of. The town where I used to live is small and that dealer always took care of me. I moved to a larger city and the dealer here is no where the same in customer care. So I took my truck back to the dealer where I used to live. It is only an hour and half up the road.
  15. Here is one from when we had our 2002 Venture. Turns out we had another intake gasket leak so we traded it in before it got worse. It was already fixed one time under warranty back at 33k miles. Other than that issue, it was actually a great vehicle.
  16. Here is one from a friends daughters 2010 Fusion Hybrid. She pushed it and always went past her oil changes. I would do the oil changes for this family. Getting her in for a change from college was interesting to say the least.
  17. Here is one from my 2003 ExMark Lazer Z HP mower's hydraulic system.
  18. Another from my 2002 where I ran various weight to see any difference. Some of the info missing is because it was a Tuner test and not an Advanced. unit 154 test 4.pdf
  19. Here is one from when I had my 2002 silverado and did a UOA back in 2018 on the rear differential fluid.
  20. Here is a place to post everyone's UOA's. Doesn't have to be from your truck. I figured it would be cool to see other vehicles as well. It can give us a better understanding on all the manufactures, even if you do a UOA on your lawnmower. This way we can compare how our engines are wearing. I'll start and this one is from my daughters 2012 Cruze 1.4 turbo and from Synthetic Advantage ISO certified Oil Analysis
  21. No need at all. I ran 5w-30 in my 2002 with the 5.3 with outside temps in the high 90's with no issues. I even ran 0w-20 for over 5k miles to see if it made a difference and it didn't. This was at 150k on the truck at that time. 5w-30 is all you need. 10w-30 would be fine as well. No need for 10w-40.
  22. To my knowledge the GM performance filter isn't cleanable. It is replacement only. I was lucky enough to grab 2 extra filters that AMSOIL offered before they discontinued them. Now that I have 25k on the truck, I already replaced the GM with the AMSOIL and have a spare. Stinks that AMSOIL stopped making their air filters. If I knew they were going to stop I would have gotten more. They were less expensive than the GM filter. When the time comes, I'm gong to shop around for another replacement. If I can find one from like aFe that is less then GM then I will go that route.
  23. Isn't Banks another tuner that is putting out tunes for compliant emissions?
  24. Sounds exactly like my 2016 Suburban. The torque converter went out. If you keep driving it more damage can be done. Better to get it taken care of. Local shop here is rebuilding our 6L80E for $3,600, this includes a billet TC, upgraded valve body and a few other upgraded parts from Sonnax. The dealer wanted $6,000 to put in a reman GM unit. GM came with a 3yr 100,000 mile warranty and the local shop is only a year or 12,000 miles. We will run out of time before we put the miles on now that we are not diving much.
  25. Try swapping coils and see if the misfire follows. Then you know what to change next.
