  1. Well I got around to changing the oil today. I have 7k miles on it and this oil has 3k miles with a PF48 filter. Sending in a sample to see how it looks. Took it out for about an hour of drive time to get things warmed up and came in off the interstate and right up on the ramps to change the oil. I also took the time to install my skip shift. It will be a year since I purchased it from Apex over their Christmas special. So now no more skip shift. Love the funnel. It just screws right in like the oil cap. Keeps things nice and clean for the oil change and hands free. Next oil change I'll install the Ea15k50 oil filter on it. I had the PF48 so I just used it for now. I figure this will be in until next September since I don't put that many miles on it. Although they are fun "hard" miles.
  2. Changed out the NGK TR5 V-Power spark plugs on the 2002 Silverado today. The plugs had 40k on them, truck miles are 148K. They still looked good but I had a set of AC Delco Iridiums on the shelf so I put them in. Now I should be good for at least 100k miles. I went a little crazy with the anti-seize on the last install. I didn't put that much on this time. I have to say they came out really easy.
  3. I finally got around to installing the Elite Engineering Catch-can, Roto-Fab cold air intake and GTO clutch reservoir on the Camaro. Took me a while, total 3hrs. Not that any of it was hard, just was super hot and humid and I was totally soaked in sweat by the time I was done. I had a hard time getting some of the lines off the intake. The release tab was underneath and hard to get to with my hands. Why GM incorporated the clutch fluid in with the brake fluid is beyond me, but they did and this is one of the many little changes most are doing since the clutch fluid gets contaminated quickly. Makes for easy change out of fluid. The catch-can seems to be another hot item to have installed on these LS engines. I noticed that when I pulled the line off my intake it was covered in oil. So this should help keep the oil out of the intake. The Roto-Fab cold air intake is a nice addition and it also allows for better engine song to escape from under the hood under WOT. Yes, I need to clean up under the hood, it is a mess. What do you expect for it having only 6k miles on the thing, to be spotless? __________________
  4. Looks like the days of a reasonably priced vehicle from GM are long gone.
  5. Had a Black Bear tune on my 02 Silverado for a while now with the Auto Cal. Love it! Really woke up the 5.3 and if I stay out of the throttle economy is good at 18mpg.
  6. I got an APEX. Great deal I couldn't pass up and super service.
  7. My Roto-Fab intake came in, waiting on my catch can and GTO clutch reservoir to come in. Then I'll put them all on the Camaro. Sent from my MaxiPad
  8. Gave it a bath, got all the Pa. dirt off it from my trip visiting mom.
  9. I listen to his radio show. I need to read his book. Some interesting people call into his show.
  10. I figure my 02 will last me a long time. Sure it doesn't ride as nice as the newer ones but it is paid for and does what I need it to do. Maybe if I hit the Powerball then I can get what I want. Considering mine brand new for an LT which is pretty much loaded was $30k out the door. The prices have gone up quite a bit.
  11. Took it out to drop off some used printer cartridges at the girls school. They get money for them. They can use all that they can get.
  12. Nothing today but I did change out the fuel pump yesterday. It is in the "How to" thread.
  13. Installed a new battery. The Autocraft Gold I got from Advance Auto back in Jan 2010 took a dump. At least they prorated it for me so the new one only cost $82.
  14. You can also use AMSOIL's power steering fluid. It is a good choice if you want to go with 100% synthetic fluid. Applications AMSOIL Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Power Steering Fluid is recommended for power steering systems requiring any of the following specifications: American Motor Corporation C 4124 BMW 82 11 0 148 132; 83 29 0 429 576; 81 22 1 468 879 & 82 11 1 468 041 Chrysler MS-1872; MS-5931 & MS-9602 Ford M2C138-CJ; ESW-M2C128-C&D; M2C195-A; M2C204-A & M2C33-F GM/Saginaw PSF 9985010; 9985835 & 89021184 Hyundai/Kia PSF-3; PSF-4 & PSF 00232-19017 Mercedes Benz 236.3; 345.0; 001 989 24 03 10; 001 989 24 03 12 & Q 1 32 0001 Mitsubishi Diamond SP III & PS Fluid Navistar TMS 6810 Nissan PSF-II Porsche 000 043 206 56 Saab 93160548; (45) 30 09 800 & 30 32 380 Subaru K0209A0080 Toyota PSF Type EH; P/N 008886-01 Volvo 1161529 & 30741424
  15. Just gave it a bath and quick wax. Looks so much better. When the weather starts to cool off this fall, I need to clay and wax it and detail the inside.
  16. Just curious but was wondering if you did The Big 3 Upgrade if it would help. Certainly couldn't hurt. I know this was done on a Ford but same concept for our GM products.
  17. No worries, it is indoor/outdoor carpeting.
  18. Those things last forever. Our mayor had one with 300k on it.
  19. I got the Camaro back in the middle of December. The weather has been wet it seems ever since. So it just spends time in the garage. I would love to make it up for that but once produce season starts I'm full time at work and can't get away. It pays the bills so I can't complain. I will be making the gathering here in May in Cary since that is right before produce season and it is only 70 miles up the road. Rich is coming down for it. So far I have put in footwell lights and a black bowtie. I still need to get the Weathertech floor liners. I did take the fuse out for the NPP exhaust and really didn't see a difference so I put it back in. It is a blast to drive.
  20. Sold this. to get this Drive this for economy 1991 Jetta diesel
