  1. If that was the case then there would be a ton of sludged up engines in this country from those that follow the OLM and use cheap quick oil change places for oil changes that put the cheapest oil filter on the car. Oil and engine design have come a long way. At least from my understanding. GM's OLM is set to 7,500 miles. Our 2016 Suburban is at 7,500 miles when the OLM hits 0% every time.
  2. I would follow the OLM as well. What idle time you do isn't as bad as you think since you put some serious miles on the truck every week with the long distance drive. So for the oil and filter you are using I would keep it up and just follow the OLM.
  3. Hauled a load of yellow squash out to our one farm. That is a 1,600lb pallet worth of squash. Made the truck ride real smooth.
  4. So they have the Trax, Equinox, Traverse and Tahoe. This is supposed to be between the Equinox and Traverse is my understanding. To me is seems GM might be getting rid of their cars like Ford and just have SUV's so to speak. The looks of the Blazer are not what I expected it to be that is for sure.
  5. Anything special you have to change for the transmission filter so it will sit deeper in the pan?
  6. Some more information that i found today. Looks like the Standard Bed Crew Cab, which I want will not be available until Jan/Feb 2019. Now that sucks! 7. Man, that sucks. Seems that thermostats are a tricky thing. From all the threads I have read on different forums this is one subject that a lot of individuals stick with the factory thermostat because others, ie Stant and such just don't last. Weird. Did it stick open?
  8. Also noted that I didn't see a transmission dip stick. Hope I just missed it and there is one.
  9. I have read that the GE Nighthawks are equivalent to the Silverstars and last. I just have not gotten any to try.
  10. These new engines with direct injection work under really high pressures. Different from nonGDI engines. It seems that it is still new technology and will take a few years to work the bugs out. I know it shouldn't. But it seems to be the case with all the GDI issues. What gets me is it isn't covered under power train warranty. That makes no sense at all. Mostly just stick with a station that has a high turnover of fuel, that way you know it is always fresh. I know Top Tier is recommend and the cost difference around here isn't much if not the same. I'm currently running Exxon right now and seeing how it effects my UOA that I will take before I change my oil in a few months.
  11. Sylvania Silverstars are great at lighting up the night but with my experience in my 2002 and in my daughters Cruze and when I had my 91 Jetta diesel, they just don't last. I went through two sets before I called it quits on purchasing them. To expensive. Although I did buy one more set, but only because I got them for $9 on clearance at Walmart.
  12. Maybe take the assembly out, measure and make one that is stronger in that area? Then you could sell them and make a nice chunk of change. Of course you would have to put a legal disclaimer in so if it broke and caused an accident they couldn't sue you.
  13. I got got a txt back from my dealer. They have one allocation. No pricing available. 2LT Trailboss is currently unavailable. Need $1000 deposit to order. Might go up and see what all is available.
  14. From what I'm hearing it will not be available until calander year 2019. Which will really be a bummer if that is the case. Don't understand GM. Ram and Ford have their diesel out now and GM is just lagging behind like always. My dealer doesn't have a clue when I asked them on Friday. They said I know what they know from what is available online.
  15. I run it and a mix of E85 in my 2002 Silverado. No issues in the past 4 years of using it.
  16. Yes, it is a nickel plated slip yoke. Mine was covered under warranty back in 2003 for the clunk. Might try to get in touch with MS3DALE on here and see if he can hook you up with one, if they are still available.
  17. Not sure how I missed this thread but it is some good reading.
  18. If all you are going to do is mow, then get a zero turn and don't look back. Like stated above, check out Craigslist for a good used one. Exmark, Huskey, Gravely, Dixie Chopper are all good brands. Since spring is just around the corner, people will be selling but will be asking premium prices most likely. Fall is a better time to by but that will not work now for you.
  19. I don't have any handy but if you search YouTube for LS rear main seal replacement you will find a ton.
  20. Shop here near me told me that it would be $400 to replace my rear main seal on my 2002. The leak has slowed up some and isn't dripping like it was. Since those bolts are in the rear main seal housing that would be an easy fix. Just time to take the tranny out or move back and get the flex plate off and then the seal housing.
  21. I went to see what they would give me for my 2013 Camaro on a trade and they only would offer $21k. So getting $25k was great for me.
  22. A friend of mine knew someone he works with that was looking for a Camaro. They test drove new ones and didn't like how small there were inside compared to mine. They are happy with it. It just clicked over 16k when I took it to them this morning.
  23. Sold the 2013 Camaro 2SS/RS Got $25k for it so I'm happy. Now waiting for the 2019 trucks to come out.
