  1. Every vehicle is different. Our 2016 Suburban is at 15k miles on this oil change and the dipstick still reads full. It isn't from fuel either since I can't smell any and it smells the same as when I changed it out at 500 miles when new. I sent a sample off so here in a few days I'll see what fuel dilution it will have along with all the other stuff. If I could have gotten it in the mail yesterday it would have been back to me by Friday. Dysonanalysis is quick on getting turnaround time for UOA's.
  2. You can always try disconnecting the battery and see if that helps. Other wise if it will not fully reset, which is odd, you might have to take it to the dealer if you want it fixed or just live with it. Since it isn't really anything major and you follow the mileage anyway then leaving it would be my choice. I know it sucks but it isn't worth the cost to fix something so small, at least to me it isn't.
  3. Yes, you can usually tell which side by the sound when you make a turn. If you turn right and it gets louder it is the left front wheel and turn left it is the right front wheel. Basically the extra weight that is applied to that wheel when you make the turn increases the noise.
  4. I'm at 15k on this oil change right now. Checked the oil and it is still full. Running AMSOIL ASM 0w-20 and an AMSOIL EaO17 filter. This is on our 2016 Suburban. Current mileage on the Suburban is 36,110. Off topic but I like the fact that I get the oil in gallons and just can dump two gallons in and be done. No messing with qts or 5qt containers.
  5. Ring seal is the key. If the rings are sealed and you can get proper combustion in the chamber then life for the engine is great. It is a combination of art and science so to speak. If you can find the right combination of quality oil use, fuel use, driving style, engine tune then getting what Marty has accomplished is possible. As you can tell from his posts, he takes it to the ultimate level when it comes to taking care of and operation of his vehicles. So this will only give him in return the best results one can hope for. This is why I go through Dysonanalysis for my used oil analysis. Terry works with me to fine tune my vehicle.
  6. I'm waiting for this to happen myself. I'm thinking some time in November but it might be later. If all else fails then the first of the year in 2019 would be a good bet. Heck we can't even find out if and when towing mirrors will be available if your order the Max Trailering Package.
  7. That is what it is like here in eastern NC. The mosquitoes are so bad they can carry you away. It took 2 weeks before I could drive on my yard for it to dry out enough without leaving ruts.
  8. They are calling the mesh screen a tuning valve.
  9. So what you are saying is you got it done, just needed three hands to do it.
  10. If anyone is interested in some crazy oil change interval, check out this 40k mile oil change interval on a Honda with 393k miles on it. Yes the last oil change took 22qts make up which is about a qt in every 2k miles. But before that it was a qt in 10k miles. This guy is really wanting to see how things go to the extreme.
  11. $12.80 is the retail price. PM me if you want to know the Preferred Customer wholesale price. I should have posted the rest, sorry wasn't thinking. 14. Hendrick is one of the larger dealers. One would think they would have some pull when it comes to ordering. Maybe the sales rep you dealt with is a new guy.
  15. Did you go through Hendrick? They have trucks on the lot from what they told me. Also what did you order? Standard beds are not available yet from what I can tell. They can put all the info in but can't place the order until GM opens that up to the dealers, so no you would not get an order number. At least that is my understanding talking to my dealer.
  16. Topped my truck off with the left over gas that I have for the generator.
  17. Cleaned out the garage and put away all the lawn equipment back in the small shed. Put all the lawn chairs back out, put the generator away along with the camp stove. Now to put the rest of the extra fuel in the vehicles when they need it. I got 20 gallons now to use.
  18. Filled the garage up with all the yard stuff that could fly away from the storm and parked my truck between the garage and the house for a little protection.
