  1. Ah Gotcha... yeah, I could care less about the tech stuff as I just dont have a need for it.. Any big differences in driveability between the two?? To me it seems the 19+ doesnt seem as wide as the K2s
  2. Thanks... What you feel is the biggest difference between the 22 and your 18?? Both trucks i am looking at are LTZ as well..Both have roughly the same options as well, sunroof, heated/cooled seats etc..
  3. Well, this is going to be my "daily" if you will... Since the pandemic, my company shifted to a work from home policy, we went back for a few weeks, then management decided that we could stay home and work if we so desired. So with that being said, i really dont put alot of miles on , I would say at most roughly 5-7k miles a year is all I put on , so while its my daily, I dont drive alot. Also, I really have no desire to "keep up with the Jonses" and get something new every 3 years or so... I generally keep them as long as i possibly can..10+ years as long as they dont start rotting out... these are crew cab trucks im looking at, so theres room for my kids
  4. So Im looking at buying another truck soon.. My son will be driving soon and I plan on having him use my 1999 Silverado... I was looking at a 2017 LTZ 1 owner truck with 40K on it... I found the truck on marketplace back in Sept and talked to the owner about it ( garage kept, Fluid filmed since new, well maintained, mobil1 every oil change , highway miles , trans was flushed in August and has no issues..etc)... He decided not to sell it at the time and I found out later that he sold it to a dealership a few months later in November and its been there since... back in November I went out to test drive it and the truck was in exceptional condition, probably the nicest one I have seen for its age. and due to the undercoating since new, there is no rust what so ever under it. At the time i offered the dealership $1500 under their asking price and they wouldnt do anything, but now since its been sitting they have come down on the price, but im wondering if its worth the $43K they are asking vs buying a new one...I know this time we are living in buying a vehicle is crazy, but I also feel that as time goes on , the 2017 may depreciate faster than a 22, even though I would be paying more initially..I really prefer the look of the K2 models over the T1 and I know what i should do is wait until prices stabilize, but I am one of those people who really do not like the new interior or exterior look of the refresh models ...For me the less technology that goes into a vehicle, the better.... The 22 lTD has a nice simple interior that gets the job done without being over complicated with giant screens and digital everything... So, would buying a 5 year old 2017 with 40K on it for 43K and no warranty be a better deal than a 22 LTD for 60k and full warranty ??
  5. Just wondering if the OP of this thread is still around... I know its been awhile, but I have some questions about his truck..Thanks
  6. Yep thats it...It seems pretty clean, besides rock chips in the front bumper... Since it was modified, i was wondering if they were on the forum... I would like to know if there are any known issues with it before i pull the trigger and buy it
  7. This may be a long shot, but anyone on this forum recently trade in a 2018 Centennial edition Silverado at a Honda dealership in Maryland? Its been customized with AMP power steps, K&N intake, MBRP exhaust, stubby antenna, and a Roll up tonneau cover...Looking at purchasing and trying to get the backstory... Thanks
  8. I picked up a set of Goodyear DuraTrac, from Sams Club ( not sure if you have any in your area) ...They had a 1 day sale in November, ( $100 off instantly plus free installation) which they are having again next weekend. I picked up a set of LT 265/75/16 Load range "C" ( 45lb tire) for $729 installed, plus a $50 Goodyear rebate, so out the door installed on my truck for $ 169.75 per tire after rebate...So far I love these tires, awesome in the snow so far, and a pretty quiet ride..I would look into them if you have a Sams club in your area
  9. I tried this as well...nothing I did try manually shifting down into 1st when coming to a stop, and that seems to eliminate it, but its a pain to do all the time
  10. One new thing that happened over the weekend...This only happened once so im not sure if it will be an on going issue... Driving home on the highway, pulling a light grade in 8th gear.. I went to pass a truck so I gave it some gas. Usually It will downshift into 7th and then when I let up it will go back to happily chewing along in 8th...This time it felt strange in the downshift, not even sure how to explain it, like it was caught in between gears and wasn't a firm downshift as usual, almost soggy feeling . It would not shift into 8th not matter what until I crested the grade. I tried going almost 80 and letting off slowly to make it shift, I tried manually putting it in 8th, nothing would get it to shift... After I crested the grade it was fine after that but wondering if it will happen again...
  11. Mine will do the twitch on occasion, it doesn't happen all the time, but it did happen a few times already. Since its been cold here in the NE I have been remote starting daily and 8 times out of 10 I don't get the twitch but it does happen.... I also have been noticing from a cold start when I get in and put it in reverse sometimes it will shutter for a second then go into reverse.. It only seems to do this when its cold out or on a cold start.. Once its warmed up it seems ok... I still do not have any shutter or vibration yet with mine..almost 8700 miles
  12. Ok it makes me feel better that im not the only one who has this issue.... From the looks of it, it seems that those of us with the 18s seems to have this problem..
  13. What is the consensus of feeling your truck downshifting into 1st?... My truck feels like it doesn't actually downshift into first when coming to a stop...It hard to explain, but the easiest way is that it feels like the truck goes into netural and (lurches) when I just about coming to a stop, or pull into my garage very slowly. I can even hear the exhaust change note when it does this, the rpm (seems) to drop and exhaust note seems to flatten out, unlike what I am used to when downshifting into 1st the rpm usually goes up... My 2011 and my wifes 2014 tahoe downshifted into 1st normally, even my wifes new 2019 traversed I could feel the downshift and slow down from the shift... this just seems very strange to me...I can feel it downshift it normally when it goes from 3rd to 2nd, but this 2nd to 1st downshifting thing really bothers me.. When it does this and I get back on the gas, is when it will spool up a little then grab 1st gear... How many of you guys have the same issue??
  14. While I agree the 11-12k off should be more being as its a leftover, and you might get a better deal today as its the end of the month, don't expect the incentives to be any more as time goes on.. Ive been researching prices for a few years, and by jan/feb of the new year the incentives start to dwindle... by March or so there really isn't much incentives out there... The manufacturers use Dec/Jan & Feb to put incentives out to push most of the old inventory...After that there isn't much in dealer stock of the previous model year, so they don't throw much money at them.. Best case is that the incentives will stay about the same from here on out. Also , im not sure what is so "old & dated" about the K2xx?? The interior of the 19 is basically the same .. This truck does everything I need it to do, why spend more on something that does the same thing???...If you like the looks of a new one , I get that, and by all means go for a new one, but again looks and features are subjective.
  15. I dont have the lurch forward, never did, and I have been using the remote start often now that its cold here in the NE. Whats interesting, is that when my truck is cold, I feel its shifts better than when it gets warm... When i go to work first thing in the morning its been about 10- 20 degrees lately and the shifts are firm and positive and when it gets warm there seems to be more hesitation, like it takes extra timing out during the shift when warm.
  16. Im not sure, it was like that since new... Hasn't gotten any worse
  17. I have to agree with this.... You usually only hear about the bad ones...although there are a lot of people that may or may not have issues that don't know about this forum either.. But this does sound like a pretty big problem for GM since its not only our trucks..Camaro and Corvettes have the same problems.. I have my 2018 truck about a year now and 8500 miles and I don't have any issues with mine... My only real complaint is when doing a rolling stop and getting back on the gas it will act like its in neutral ( rpm goes up while coasting ) then slam into 1st... if I actually stop, there are no issues... I tried different speeds on the highway and no shuttering at all...so far Just throwing it out there my 2018 was built in 11/2017 , not sure if time of build has anything to do with it I know the 2015-2016 trucks had a lot more issues than the 2017-2018 models do., but I wonder how many 2018 models have this issue?? Most of the posts on here are 2015-2016 trucks, there are not too many specifically on the 2018s yet.
  18. Mine has never had any shuttering at highway speeds, erratic shifting at light throttle..yes but that's about it... I never had any downshift clunk or banging into gears either...My truck was built 11/17.. I bought it in 2/18 ...I have 6500 miles on it now and it still seems the more I drive it, the better it is... Now Im not sure if its me, but it seemed to be a lot better after my first oil change..
  19. Sweet!...Solo makes great products, I cant wait to hear the results on how she sounds!..I never knew they did truck exhaust
  20. Maybe find another exhaust shop...The flex pipe has NOTHING to do with 4cyl mode noise. The flapper valve behind the stock muffler is what is supposed to control 4cyl mode ..The flex pipe is there to "flex" to not made the system completely rigid and possibly crack something. It is NOT needed with cat back systems.
  21. Its mostly just ALOT deeper sounding since the sound waves are bouncing around under the box.. I like the way it sounds dumped, but you will get more interior noise with it
  22. NONE!...IMO its the best exhaust system on the market ...It has a great sound and no interior resonance...The Sport system may be too loud for some, but I think its prefect...Cold starts are pretty loud..but after that it has a great sound...only gets pretty loud if you are in the gas hard, and even then its not annoying inside...Even in V4 mode, yes it does chopper a little but still no drone inside. Crusing down the highway is just as quiet as the factory exhaust...until you put your foot down..LOL
  23. Or you can go Corsa....It will be louder outside than the GM borla but quiet on the inside....Not sure if you have the 5.3 or 6.2 but they have a split rear dual kit for the 5.3L...
  24. Unfortunately, there really isn't a lot you can do at this point to curb the drone besides changing mufflers....You can possibly add another small muffler ahead of it to knock out some sound, but any of the straight through "packed" mufflers will have some drone to them
