  1. If you tow you may get some extra noise with the exhaust straight out the rear. My V-Max was really loud that way while towing so I relocated to a side exit to make it sound normal with a loaded trailer. Sent from my iPhone6 via TapaTalk
  2. I switch my CCW every so often for some reason. Many times it has to do with clothing or weather, sometimes it's 'just because'. The past month or so, I've been carrying my Sig P228 off duty in a kydex IWB holster with extra magazine on the opposite side, and my Glock 26 on my left ankle wearing long pants. I'm sure I'll switch up again at some point though.
  3. What's with the fake PEQ-15? Those things are made for AirSoft toys.
  4. Sure do! Road salt & that brime chemical Penn Dot spray & spread all over the roads is extremely corrosive. It gets all over the undercarriage of the vehicle and is hard to get off if left on too long. It actually looks like a coat of white paint once it dries on everything. It eats the shit out of CV boots, bushings, paint, & pretty much everything. That's why the northeast is referred to as the "rust belt"! Vehicles in this area wear much quicker than out west because of the winters and chemical treatment used. That's why you see so much more rust & corroded parts around here. It's disgusting for those of us who take good care of our vehicles. I'm no stranger to being at the car wash rinsing it all of in the middle of winter when it's 10 degrees outside when the soap freezes immediately when it hits the paint! You have to see it to really understand the type of damage those chemicals do to the paint, bushings.....everything on the vehicle that is exposed. It really does a number on chromed and aluminum wheels. It makes them pit terribly and if you don't keep the wheels clean they are destroyed in a few years. They will look like they went through a sandblaster! You are lucky you don't have to deal with this nonsense! Sent from my iPhone6 via TapaTalk
  5. Before blindly throwing money at the truck and hoping different new parts fix whatever the issue is, you may want to take it to a good garage and have them take a look at it for you. It gets quite expensive just randomly replacing parts. At least a good mechanic will be able to tell you what the exact problem is and what it's going to cost to get it fixed. 6. If it's possible for you to post a video of this sound, you may get a few more responses. It is really difficult to diagnose a sound over the internet without actually hearing what's going on.
  7. If you already own Springfield and you're comfortable with it, go with the XDS.......That's what I would do since they operate the same and you don't have to worry about getting used to a different make & model. I am a huge Glock fan and owner several but I love to carry my XDS. Very light and slim, don't even know it's there. Sent from my iPhone6 via TapaTalk
  8. Thanks guys.....much appreciated! Sent from my iPhone6 via TapaTalk
  9. It's either going to be another Equinox or Acadia. She really likes the Acadia Denali interior but the price tag on the Equinox is a little more checkbook friendly..... I guess I will know for sure within two weeks. Plan on going to the dealership tomorrow if she feels up to it. Plan on taking a peek at the Buick Enclave while we're there too. 10. Went on a rescue mission. My other half crashed her Equinox on her way to work. Roads all dry until going around a blind curve that was blown over covered in snow. If she would have hit one foot to the right it would have been head on with a tree. Luckily all is well, just scrapes and bruises luckily. Looks like it's going to be time for a new GM crossover or SUV, selectable 4x4 or AWD, doesn't matter. It's probably going to be another Equinox since she loved the 08. I am now a huge fan of airbags, it saved her this morning. Sent from my iPhone6 via TapaTalk
  11. I have also ordered the replacement latch from ebay. I would imagine it's probably the same one you bought because the price was the same. I actually replaced the OEM's in both of my trucks after cracking, they don't seem to last. The ones I received through the ebay seller seem to be of higher quality and are heavy duty compared to the OEM part. The replacement latch should last a long time, longer than OEM I hope. The first time I broke the latch in my 2008 I replaced it with an OEM latch I received at my dealership, got it free of charge. Unfortunately it didn't last so I searched around and found the heavier duty latches on ebay for a fractuion of the OEM cost so I ordered a few. I expect them to last but if not, I am not going to go broke ordering more latched at the cost around $5-$6. GM charges way too much for little parts.
  12. Ok, my exact set-up is Power Stop drilled & slotted front rotors with Z36 truck & tow pads. I purchased the complete front kit for around $285ish. The rear are the Power Stop brake shoes. I just returned home from towing my wifes horse trailor loaded with both horses (had vet appt.) The brakes performed beyond my expectations to be honest. The trailor brake felt unneeded so I turned the gain down to zero on the way home and just relied on the truck brakes. I can honestly say that these brakes stop much stronger and shorter than the 4-wheel disc set-up I have on my 2008 V-Max (Hawk pads w/ EBC drilled & slotted rotors). I only towed a total distance of 50 miles today but this upgrade was a great idea. Well worth the money and this will be my brake of choice for future purchases, as long as everything lasts. It's almost dangerous driving unlaoded when it's time to stop, they grab quick and really slow you down. It's like I have to relearn how to drive my truck. I've had several different brand of brakes in the past but this PS package is impressive and have to be the best so far, highly recommended.....Just ordered a complete Z23 package for my Cruze. They are not as heavy duty as the trucks but I hope they work as well.
  13. Finally got around to installing PowerStop brakes front and rear Z36 pads and rotors with PowerStop shoes on the rear. Huge improvement over OEM, it's like driving a different vehicle while stopping. Best upgrade to my 2010 so far. Feels near identical to the EBC's and Hawk rotors on my 2008. After towing with the 2010, i'll know for sure but it feels about the same.
  14. That's quite the difference in vehicles! If you decide to do so, going from a Tahoe to a little Honda Accord is going to take some getting used to for sure. Why not go with another SUV instead of a little car? The GMC brand is the same SUV with different emblems and body style.
  15. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That rainforest green metallic is a beautiful color, good looking truck you have there! Also nice to see you have your trailer and hitch set-up properly, truck sits nice and level.
  16. I think you may be a little confused as to what I was talking about in my post when I commented about paint.....I was commenting on the white GMC, not your black truck you posted after my post about the white one. My eyes are fine, it's just the grille surround and bumper appear yellowish against the factory paint on the three different devices I viewed the posted picture on. Not trying to offend the owner, just pointing that out. It looks much better than it would if it were left chrome or flat black though. Note to self : don't edit a post to correct spelling, or to add another sentence after rereading a members post after looking closely at the picture....... The black truck YOU posted looks good, my black 2010 came with the painted front end when GM offered that "Appearance Package". I would suggest getting 3M protection film applied if you can, it will save your bumper paint. I didn't have it done and it now looks like shit! After this winter I am having the bumper repainted and the 3M applied.
  17. Thanks. I didn't think it was an option to have GM build the truck that way using an order from. Thanks for clearing that up, I thought I missed that while looking into ordering a new truck. It would be nice if more trucks came colormatched from GM. I did notithe 2016's are available with that option. I am a huge fan of the colored front end and can't stand the chrome. Looks good, it's only off a little from matching the OEM paint perfectly. Front bumper and the grille surround are a little yellowish against the factory paint in that picture. I would definitely take it back to whatever body shop you used and have it redone, that would bug the heck out of me. Sent from my crappy iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
  18. ^^^^^^ So you ordered it colormatched from the factory when you ordered your truck? What was the price of that option? Sent from my crappy iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
  19. This has been discussed at least 1,000 times. Look in the tire/wheel section of the forum, everything you need to know about tire & wheel combinations and fitment will be there. Sent from my crappy iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
  20. Night sights are always a great idea for a carry pistol. Sent from my crappy iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
  21. Looks much better! Also like the look of those black wheels on the white truck, well done! Do you have any plans on lifting the rear or don't you tow anything heavy? Sent from my crappy iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
  22. That makes sense as an abreviation for the license but the topic title, what do you carry for your CHL doesn't fit.......If that's the case, you would carry your license for your CHL correct? I posted a while back and never really thought about CHL meaning firearm because I never heard that before. If someone were to say what do you carry for your CCW (concealed carry weapon) that would make more sense when talking about a firearm.
  23. This may seem strange and I was going to ask when this topic originally started but does "CHL" stand for? A carry pistol is usually referred to as an "EDC" gun. (Every Day Carry) What is CHL carry?
  24. It's just a revision of the current and standard XD pistol. Springfield should drop the original XD and stick to this newest design. Seems like a better design compared to the original.
  25. I am familiar with Springfields XD & XDm pistols but what is "mod. 2"? Never heard of that before. Sent from my crappy iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
