  3. My head has hit the roof... Supposed to keep about 5 PSI in the air bags, is that enough to matter, I wouldn't think so, but my truck is way rougher than any of my other trucks and rougher than any other 3/4 or 1 ton I've been in. I haven't been in a truck exactly like mine so I can't say its normal or not. My head hitting the head liner is best indication I have that its not.
  4. Don't know if I do or not - I haven't confirmed RPO codes. Generally, the front isn't too bad; the rear can literally test the padding in the headliner. Since the GVWR on mine is over 10k lbs I don't have TPMS, and run tire PSI at 60. Still intend to compare my spring pack to others.
  5. EVERYONE complains how rough mine rides, 2018 CCSB 3500 w/ diesel. I attributed it to the previous owners adding airbags to it plus its not a long bed. My spring pack has the overload spring pack on top, but I'm not sure what the overload spring on bottom looks like (regarding thickness comparison above).
  6. The 7 pin already had a reverse light circuit in it... you say "don’t want the trailer pods come on every time the vehicle is in reverse." Why not? Seems like you are adding a bunch of trouble just to keep the lights off some of the time.
  7. One at a time swap plug, wire, coil, injector, plug wire from cylinder 1 to cylinder 8. One of those components will take the miss fire with it from 8 to 1, this is the component that needs replaced. Otherwise you are looking at a mechanical problem specific to cylinder 8. Non AC/Delco parts are suspect of being no good out of the box.
  8. You answered 1 and 2 with your question on number 3. Style differences to appeal to different buyers. There are no functional differences. No reason to consider the gas. Jury could still be out on the 10 speed - but the 6 is very reliable.
  9. Have the battery tested, its not holding a charge. Continued use will over tax the alternator eventually.
  10. The Ford vs. Chevrolet debate is akin to the Apple vs. Android one. At this point you can't really say one is significantly superior to the other, but they are different. The software is where they will be most distinguishable. The fundamental truck functions will be so similar non fanboys probably wouldn't discern any perceptible advantages of one vs. the other. As for us fanboys - you're only going to get biased opinions.
  11. A lean condition with low fuel pressure and misfires indicates fuel pump, has that been replaced? How was lean condition determined? (Don't I remember you having low o2 sensor voltage?) How was deficient fuel pressure determined? Trying to see if its one problem or multiple.
  12. 4 and 6 look to be problematic. Could be oil leaking down the stem, or other source of incomplete combustion inside the cylinder. Since the symptoms are of a miss, I would presume the source being inside cylinder. (Re-reads thread for memory)
  13. Make sure the engine is grounded well to the chassis/battery.
  14. Fix the exhaust leaks first. Your O2 sensors aren't getting an accurate reading of what is happening in the combustion chamber. The PCM is trying to adjust the engine based on the lies the bank 2 O2 sensors are spreading. The screenshot of bank 2 sensors is telling. Sensor 2 is following sensor 1.
  15. Model? Year? Mileage? Swap the components from cylinder 2 to a known good cylinder, one at a time. This will confirm a coil pack plug or wire, also do the same with the injector. If those check out, check wiring to the injector and coil pack. Next check compression.

  17. Same buddy as? This buddy doesn't know what he is talking about. The sensors only report information to the PCM. The critical part is making sure the information being delivered to the PCM is accurate so that it can monitor and adjust operating parameters correctly.
  18. I would recommend name brand O2 sensors - AC Delco. Second, monitor the upstream O2 sensor readings to confirm the lean condition. Check intake manifold gaskets for air intake leaks.
  19. Most simple OBDII readers will clear codes. This doesn't fix mechanical issues. This will cause more problems and complicate trouble shooting the original issue.
  20. If you didn't move the adjusting cams on the upper control arm mounting bolts it is probably close enough - you fiddling with them in the driveway is probably going to make it more worse than better. Plus, you're not going to adjust the caster without likely in advertently adjusting the camber.
  21. Something I don't see anyone talking about it... regrets... There is no reasonable comparison in capability of the gas engine to diesel. You can get a gas engine and it can suffice just fine, but the diesel will do the same thing and perform better doing it. So, you crunch all your numbers and decide that the gas engine is all you need. Then spend the rest of your time owning it wishing you had gone ahead and gotten the diesel. To the say the gas engine will work better in the city as a daily driver is pointless. My diesel 3500 is getting the same mileage as my 1/2 ton 5.3l did - both in the city and on the highway. These trucks are cumbersome in all but the most spacious of parking lots, impossible? No; but you're not whipping into any parking spots or nimbly darting through rush our traffic either. The comfort level the diesel is going to bring when towing that size trailer will be a noticeable improvement over the gas.
  22. The Chevrolet has it on the instrument panel left of the climate control. GMC down by the cup holders...
  23. They can wear out like other shocks, mostly by developing leaks. They aren't as expensive as they used to be either. They are more than a regular shock though.
  24. 3500 to 350 they'd be more comparable. Generally speaking they are very competitive to each other the notable differences are going to come down to preference items. The comparisons I've seen don't show the power advantage of the Ford making it to the ground in a meaningful way. Smaller tank - yes. Bigger turn radius - will you notice? Lighter tow ratings - enough to matter? Lower hp and torque - see comment above. Some pros: Hopefully nicer ride - probably compared to the 450. Better interior - preference, but I think the refreshed models of GM are nicer than Fords latest. Nicer tech - Super Cruise might be the only major thing to sway someone. Cost should be lower in the GM too, I can't justify how a Ford Platinum is so much compared to the plain Denali... not sure where the Denali Ultimate is pricing wise, but if memory serves the plain Denali was a considerable amount below 100k and the Platinum is a similar amount over - a 20k delta and nothing tangible to show for it. I never looked to closely at the costs though the above is the impression I built in my head and never went any further with it.
