Lmc Parts Shipping Charges

Recommended Posts

Morning everyone, I ordered 2 tailgate latches and rods for my 04 Silverado. LMC called me to advise about shipping charges (I Live in Canada). They quoted $75 for USPost and $40 for FedEx economy. I buy enough stuff from the US and have always had USPost much less expensive than a courier.

I called back this morning to re-confirm the shipping charges and (a different person) told me the option I chose would only go as far as the border and I had to go pick them up. I live 1 1/2 hr from the nearest border crossing. The person yesterday didn't mention that point at all.

The reasonably priced parts became expensive with the shipping charges and would have been really overpriced if I had to retrieve them from the border! I cancelled the order. It's a shame because LMC seems to carry every possible part a Chevy might need.

HAs anyone else had problems with shipping from LMC?

My experience has been that most mail order sources charge a hefty amount for shipping and 'handling' charges. Call me a cynic, but often times I think the mail order companies should rename them shipping and 'additional profit' charges.

Yes, there is the UPS option.....we're talking 2 latches and 2 rods; not a very big package: paying nearly $100 courier charges makes them completely uneconomic. I was prepared to wait 10 -14 days for a reasonable USPost delivery.

Last month I ordered 100 sqft of sound deadener from a US company, a large box and plus 40lbs and the shipping was $90, which I thought was fair for a heavy package.

Guess that may be why so many companies don't ship international. It's $20 to ship those items to me. I know the last time I shipped overseas it was outrageous.

its really frustrating to find GM parts at a decent price in canada

yet I see so many GMC and Chevy trucks around that will all need parts eventually

you'd think GM might wake up and stop trying to hose us locally and force us to look aftermarket
