2500hd Steering Adjustment Lock

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I have a 2002 2500hd with the 8.1L.

The truck has a 6 inch superlift (which is closer to 7 inches). I have 35 inch Nitto Mudd Grappler tires.

My problem is with the tires rubbing the sway bar up front when I turn.

I have heard that I should install wheel adapters to push the wheels out about 2 inches, but heard that its not good for the wheel bearings.

I have also heard that you can adjust the steering lock to stop just before the insides of the tires rub the sway bar.

Is this adjustment even something that can be done? If so, can it be done by a do-it-yourselfer?

Thanks.
