Colorado Rims On A Silverado

Recommended Posts

I have a set of 20" rims I had on my 2005 2wd Colorado, when I traded the truck in I kept the rims. They are six lug like the Silverado but im not sure the backset will work?

My new truck is an 09 2wd - can anyone tell me if the rims will work?

Also I want to put Cooper Zeon LTZ's on these rims (if they work). With stock height truck what is the largest tires I can put on these 20's? 275-60R-20?

Thanks Guys!!!!!

2009 Silverado (with 17" Stock) 17 X 8.5 6-139.7 - Offset unknown

2005 Colorado (with 15" Stock) 15 X 6 6-139.7 - Offset Unknown

Huh, they may work depending on the offset...

What rims do you have (to look up specs)...

Thanks for looking that up. That is great. Should I just throw the rim on and see if it works? Is front or back the worry on the backset?

Let me look up the rim if I can, its been a while.

The backspacing (offset) is important on all 4 wheels. Here is a diagram that I like best...

Ok I found them, Zinik Z13 Luina

But I seem to think when I ordered these rims they had to be bored out to work with the hub of the colorado. I think??????

They fit the 2009 Silverado 2WD

I dont know what to say about the possible boring...except that the structure of the wheel may no longer be able to handle a bigger truck...get it checked

Mike you have been a huge help, thanks for all the information....

So what size tires?? :rollin:

Stock 20s were:

275/55R20

Others:

285/50R20

305/45R20

Those would keep the stock wheel ratio so your speedo is not messed up...keep in mind that the 305s may rub a little if you dont have a lift.

I only have stock 17's so I will have speedo problems either way. So would you recommend the same sizes you listed above then?

My truck is stock height, so dont want to rub. Im looking into leveling kit but not done it yet.

But I think I want a beefy tire on those 20's.

um, that might be a tough call...Mickey Thompson or Nitto Tires sound like what you want and for those, I recommend some type of lift.

Problem for me is I dont have any experience with lifting a vehicle as I dropped mine down 2 inches... sorry :rollin:
