Will My Tires Fit?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm brand new to this site and i have two questions

1- I cant get the pic of my truck to come up and i dont know why, i scaled it down and it wont load

2- I have 285/75/16 tires on some aftermarket steel wheels. i have a chance to get some almost new 305/75/16 BFG all terrains on the stock 16 inch brushed aluminum stock wheels. Will these fit? i have the torsion bar cranked and the 285s are close but not close enough for me to not try them... anybody know for sure before i waste my time? I would do a leveling kit but i just put brand new shocks on it and dont want to have to buy new shocks and ill just keep my tires if thats what i have to do. Thanks Guys

I attached an old pic of my truck but they are my current tires

Getting a 305 on a what...8.5" wide rim? That's going to be tough to find somebody that'll do it. Plus, it'll handle like ass and your contact patch will be smaller than it was with the 285's most likely because of the way the tread will be bowed.

You need wider wheels to make those work.

PLUS...Not many people have gotten 305's to fit on a truck with no lift without going shorter on the sidewall height. A few people have made it work, but not very many.

Welcome to the forum BTW :)

Stock brushed alum wheels were 6.5" on my 99 2500. A 305 would look like a donut on them.

ive only seen people do this as said with a lift, but your going to want atleas a 8" wide wheel and going to need to trim the hell out of your front bumper. Most guys do this size with 2500hd trucks, but they have a 2" body raise stock and used the HUmmer h2 wheels wich are 8 lug but agian they are about 8 wide so that will create a real square tire.
