Cv Maintaince?

I am new to this truck an 2006 2500hd 4wd w/ 70k and was greasing some zerks the other day and had a few questions?

Can the front axel shafts be lubed, without removal, I did not see any zerks there. Is it something that might be benificial in a truck, since prior to me owning it, it was used hard at a well service company??

Are there any other Zerks besides the ones from the front steering and the 2 in the FWD shaft? I did not see any in the main drive shaft or rear wheels?

Thanks

Steve

CV boots are sealed. No need for lubrication. Inspect the boots occasionally looking for rips, tears or ruptures. One thing to look for is grease that is being slung out of the boot. Boots can be replaced or you can replace the whole cv shaft.

You might look closely at the drive line to make sure there are no grease zerks on the joints. If a u joint has been replaced there should be a grease zerk
