'92 Suburban Heater Woes..need Wiring Help

Recommended Posts

Not sure what happened to the original post, but the HVAC module in my '92 Suburban quit working. I've narrowed it down to an electrical issue, I don't have power on the large red wire in the connector and the ground doesn't seem to be working either.

Was wondering if anyone knew where the next plug/connector in this harness would be to help me narrow down the troubleshooting time. I do have power on the brown wire that comes from the relays behind the glove box.

Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks!

OK, I tore into the dash last night to trace wires and found the problem in the passenger side firewall plug. Now I need to find out how to get that thing apart so I can repair the melted wiring. I took out the radiator overflow and removed the connector from the firewall but can't figure out how to open it up without breaking it.

Anyone had this apart and have any tips? Thanks!
