2009 Silverado Problem

ok i just bought a new 2009 silverado crew cab xfe model. my truck has 550 miles, i was driving it yesterday and it just shut off on me at a red light and wouldn't start.. let it sit for couple mins and then it fired right up but the check engine light stayed on so i had it towed to my nearest chevy service center.. turns out the ECM has gone out, and just wondering if anyone is having the same problem im having. dealership doesn't know what caused it, but they are replacing my ecm seems strange that it has gone out so fast, truck is brand new with no mods all stock. oh also i saw something on my info display under my tach that said something about reduced power didn't really get a chance to look at it very good since i was trying to coast off the road as safely as possilbe. anyways any help or info would be great. thanks for reading my little story. hope this doesn't happen again. but will try to keep you guys posted on what happens when they replace my ecm, will be pick up my truck on monday hopefully.

Truck went into fail safe mode. Caa caa happens. It's probably just a fluke. It will run great I'm sure. Get any bugs worked out now. All the ones that I have owned have been trouble free for many years!

Trucks are run by computers now. Electrical/Electronic problems must be expected sooner.. or later.. Just like buying a new expensive HD TV or Computer, sometimes when you open it up out of the box something is wrong :jester:

At that low mileage I would just call it a fluke. My 07 had 32k and my 09 now has 7k and never had a problem. It happens once in a while. I think everything will be alright.

Just a freak occurrence. I've never seen anybody in here have that problem... and that covers a lot of GMT900 owners. I'd bet on a one time part failure and that it never happens again. Just the same, it does suck to have something happen to your brand new truck.

Hope they solve it right away for ya.
