Question About Timbren Rear Ses On Gmt-900's

I installed a pair of Timbren Rear SES springs a few weeks ago. The installation was no problem. Pulled the factory bump stops off without even jacking the truck up. Then installed the Timbrens with just one side at a time jacked up and didn't even need the tire removed. They seem like a really simple and effective product.

My question though. The box that the Timbrens came in included two nuts that I never used. The GMT-900 frame is fully boxed so I see no way of getting the nuts in there. I assume the bump stop holes are threaded and the Timbren screws thread and hold tight to that?

Also, I can't seem to get the 1" clearance that Timbren recommends. Do you adjust the clearance by simply tightening or loosening the screws attaching the Timbren spring to the frame? I've got driver's side at 1.5" and passenger's side at 1.25". They're tightened down pretty good but I'm afraid to go too loose and risk them falling off while driving. I guess I could try and make a homemade "spacer" to decrease the clearance gap but is there an easier way?

Thanks.

I installed timbrens on my truck but the springs were from a 1 ton. Just a little taller 1/8 of an inch longer and a little wider. I put them in and only used the bolt and no nut. I have no spacer. I do have the 1" clearnce they suggested. Make a spacer if needed.

I have them on my dodge but I'm sure it's about the same. The clearence depends on what you currently have in your truck cause the more weight makes it sit lower vs the test truck they used which is bone stock. Yes my guess is that the nut is fixed into the frame. They gave me some spacers with mine but I carry a heavy tool box with tools so if I installed it would be riding on the timbrens all the time. My timbrens hit over bump sometimes and give a good jolt but when the truck is loaded they are awsome. Cheap air bags with the air.

there should be a spacer between rubber and steel bracket, remove this spacer by removing bolt in center of rubber, reattach rubber to bracket, install and tighten on truck frame, lower truck if raised and check clearance between bottom of rubber and axle housing, get as close as possible to 1" clearance by adding or removing shims.
