Hello all,

I lost my key fob about 2 years ago but found it the other day. Only problem is its no longer programmed, so I bought a new battery for it and tried to program...everything went great until i got to the "hold the LOCK and UNLOCK button at the same time for 15 secs, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm programming" I've held them for over a minute and still no lock and unlock  What am I doing wrong?!?! Any help will be greatly appreciated!

take it in,the tech must hold his tongue in a certain way to get it to work sometimes ,and there are several ways to program the fobs and the scanner may be the way to go

I find usually the right combination of curse words make it work.

you usually have to spend a few hours at it first so you can get good and pissed off....than you have to hit your head on something, or smash a finger with a hammer/large wrench and draw blood. There are no set curse combinations, you have to do it by trial and error.

I fix Big Guns for a living in the Navy...and that always works for me. I think its more of the combination of the blood offering and Prayers (cursing) to the gun gods that make it work for me though.

Yeah..take it in man...it will take no more than 15min for those guys, they do it all the time. Most of the time they will charge you very little for this, and if you know the guys at the shop they will sometimes do small stuff like this for free. I got my crank relearn done for free...but I have brought 15 people into the dealership to buy new cars....mostly guys with fords...

Friends don't let friends drive Fords :smash:

All the curse words I've tried havent worked, so it looks like I'll need to take it in. I called my local dealer in Tampa and they want 50 bucks for it...oh well its worth it lol thanks! and Go Air Force!!!

I am not sure about the 2004's, but I read somewhere that for the newer years you need to use some piece of shop equipment. I did mine for a 2000 Silverado a while back. There was one step that didn't go as it was supposed to.And i think it might of been what your saying, but it still worked just fine. Just remember to do all the keys at the same time, because it resets the code. If you know what your doing it takes about five minutes with this method. It pee's me off that the shop told me it takes a half hour, and that they would charge me $45.00 plus taxes! Hey that money looks as good in my wallet as in some fat cat dealership owners pocket. Besides it feels good to fix something yourself. And you are not always able to get in a dealer when you need it!
