Truck Seems Slow On Accel

my 2004 half ton just seems slow on acceleration, its a 5.3..what is the average rpm to get decent climb in speed? just trying to figure out if this is normal or if i need to make some adjustments

Have you been driving this truck long? You might need to look into a custom tune. You're probably noticing all the nannies GM puts on these trucks

had the truck 2 years, i'm trying to avoid a tune..i'm still running the factory tranny at 98k miles lol

Tune won't kill the tranny unless you rag on it with all the TM removed. Most tunes will help extend the life of the tranny. The tune just wakes it up and makes it go like a raped ape!
