Squeal

My 2007 Sierra 1500 5.3L 14,000 miles has a squeal at about 1500 rpm under light load. It's similar to a brake noise, but happens when the truck is stopped too. Seldom at idle, never at hard accelration, but irritating at cruising speed or just off idle. Sounds like maybe a idler pulley bearing????? I listened best I could with stethoscope, with wife at wheel in drive with brakes on...scary...but really couldn't isolate the noise. Maybe alternator bearing? Anyway, looking for common problems, where to look first, etc. Thanks in advance!

try changin your tensioner, are you positive it's comin from the serpintine somewhereor AC?

try changin your tensioner, are you positive it's comin from the serpintine somewhereor AC?

Well, I haven't had the AC on in a while, but I suppose it still could be coming from that bearing or pulley even when not "pumping"...seemed like it was near the power steering pump or Drivers Side?

well its a compressor, they usually wont unless you turn it on...i would just take a real good listen man...should be that hard too tell if ur wife can rev it for ya. it can only be one of like 3 things, i doubt its a power steering pump those never go for awhile and when they do its usually just a pressure line. i would lean towards water pump or ur alternator...or a loose belt all together...fan clutch...irs a brand new truck so it could be anything just just messed up...
