when i hit a decent bump, i almost get a small bang from the rear end, or i'll hit a bump and i'll get a launch when the rear axle goes over it, i'm assuming my factory shocks are shot after almost a 100k, i was thinking maybe kyb monotube max? i'm just not sure what will fit on a 2wd as far as shocks

The factory shocks suck. Really. You can tell just by looking at them. You really should replace them already. I just went to Pep Boys and told them what kind of truck I have and they told me which ones I needed and that was it. I installed them myself.

KYB's would be a good choice or Bilsteins. Change 'em already. Factory shocks should be on everyone's list of things to change shortly after new purchase, before the first oil change.
