02 To 03-07 Tail Lamp Upgrade

I have a friend with an 02 Silverado. His stock lamps are damaged and he wants to take the chance to upgrade the tail lamps to 03-07. How hard is this to do? Plug-n-play or rewire? Nothing came up in a search. I have never tried to do this, so I have no idea on this one.

It can be done but it appears you might need to splice an extra wire in or get a different harness. It shouldn't be difficult either way.

I did it to my '01. I found 2 wiring harness's off ebay for cheap.

Convince him to keep them the way they are! I think the 99-02 style (Silverado, as SIerra stayed the same thru 07) look much better then the all red "clear lens" look of the 03-07 OBS. JMHO though.
