i used a hole saw, sized up big enough to fit the new trailer connector, drilled the hole slowley with lots of pressure so the hole saw didnt wander and make the hole oversized, then i markes my mounting holes, made sure the connector was level with bumper cover first of course, then i used greenlee drill taps and tapped out for 10-32 fine thread stainless steel machine screws so they resist corrosion a lil better with this noreast salt lol. i found a wiring diagram on the internet i think it was from here to wire up the new harness. to cut off the oem bracket thats welded on the hitch i used a cutting wheel with my grinder, got rid of all the access and made it look like it was never there, got some rubber truck bed paint and painted my whole hitch after prepping it. the hardest part is the wiring, dont cut your wires off the oem connector short, cut them right at the back so you have as much play with wire length as possible. it def. makes for a lot cleaner look than that ugly bracket hanging down off your hitch.
