Under Hood Light

Recommended Posts

So, my underhood reel light has been on the fritz lately, it was working, then I pressure washed the engine, and it quit again, I just figured something got a little wet, and now it has been working for about 2 weeks, and now it doesn't work again, is there any common fixes for these lights, I was suspecting the connection at the bulb, but I can't figure out how to get under the socket to check.

Also does anyone know the part #, if I have to replace it

Thanks in advance

Never looked at it, completely pointless. I do hate that the box has torx screws, wtf happened to phillips? As for underhood lights, I loved the one my parents had in their 95 Suburban, it clipped under the hood but came off and had a huge cord that could pretty much reach anywhere around the vehicle, I want one of those.

RICH, what's the part number for those old units? Can they still be purchased??? I might try to add on to my truck.

+1

Good idea if they are even still available? If so, count me in.

Where is the Wheelphotofailanater anyway?

Circuit City?

If only.

Oh funny guys,real funny

Actually I was at Best Buy on Saturday,But I didn't buy a camera (My friend needed a cord for her I-Pod for her car)

I did look at DVD players however,Nope....I ain't got a DVD player either

The retractable underhood light is still available from GM,Its part number 15990293 and lists for $78.98

no, my '96, but I did get it working last night, I had to open up the ligh bulb end, and re solder the joints, and I also opened up the main casing, and inspected and greased up in there, and now it works fine
