Only My Defrost Vent Works

I Have A 2002 Silverado 2500HD...

 

My heat and A/C both work fine but air only comes out of the defrost vents under the windshield. When I switch the vent selector to one of the other options, feet, head area, etc. the air still comes out of the defrost vent but not the vent that I selected.

 

Any help would be appreciated... it's 2 degrees here in Vermont today and my feet sure could use some warm air...

A couple of potential issues....

 

Could be there is a vacuum leak somewhere....the default if the system cannot operate correctly is the defroster vents....that way the windshiled will stay clear in bad weather...

 

 

The other issue may be in the blend door operation....

 

Either will cause you to spend some time under the dash...sorry.....good luck

Mode Valve control cam motor possibly not working. Do your home work before tackeling this job! lol
