1998 Hvac Problems

From the searches on this site, I'm thinking that I have a recirc door issue. I have a constant groan from the hvac that ends with what sounds like a hvac door closing hard. It is a continuous cycle over and over. It never stops. It does not seem to affect the performance of heat or air that I've noticed. I normally just turn up that radio until I can't hear the groan and thud any longer. I see that alot of 94's and under have actuator problems but did not see the same for 98's. Am I on the right track here?

Hi Tracy. Does switching from fresh to recirc affect the noise at all? On my truck, the noise from the blower motor gets louder when I switch to recirc. Also, try switching through all the modes from defrost to floor vents. Which ever action has no effect on the noise is where I would start looking.
