Need some paint work done

I just got some smooth door and tailgate handles for my truck and since I'm getting those painted I might as well get the fender flares painted red to match.  I don't want to take them to the dealer because I'm not too happy w/ there quality of work or there prices.  The manager at the auto parts store that i shop at said his brother had a body shop and should be able to get me a discount.  So, I'll bug him tonight if he's working and get an estimate.  What type of price should I expect to pay?

Local bodyshop wanted $90 a mirror ($180 total) to paint my mirror (chrome piece) blue.  Guy even gave me a little discount but no guarentee so i did it myself.  So far only 1 small chip.  Not to bad

I'd do this myself, but they'll be right against the rest of the body so any color difference would be very noticeable.  This is one best left to guys who have the right equipment.  Spray paint isn't going to cut it.  I asked santa to bring me a compressor for xmas so who knows.  If not I might just buy one and get some paint made up.

Well, I posted at FSC, only one response, the guy said 100 bucks, seems very low.  I talked to the guy at work who used to own a body shop and said more like 200-250, maybe less if it's a cash deal.  Either way I'll probably do it in january some time.  I'm going to check a few local paint shops as well to see what they'll give me.

 

I can't wait until I can do this stuff myself.  Some day, some day...

only downfall would be I wouldn't get paid to sit here and browse the forum all day long like I do now.  I might actually have to work.
