Power Seat Swap Just Using Power Seat Brackets?

Recommended Posts

Hello. Well, my 2005 Sierra SLE extended cab does not have power seats. The seating position is hard to get "just right", especially for my wife who is only 5 ft tall..

I simply cannot believe the seat only moves forward and backwards... Anyways, can I change the driver seat to power? I would love to be able to raise the seat and tilt the seat bottom. Can I just buy a used Sierra or Silverado power seat bracket, plug it in and bolt my seat to it? Or must I do a complete seat removal and swap? My truck only has around 40K on it and the seats are really nice. I would hate to have to completely remove them.

Thanks in advance!

I dont know why you couldn't. It should bolt right in. As far as powering it, I'm not sure how you would do that. May take a little engineering.

I know On my truck I couldn't get the seat just right either. When we had it apart puting in the seat heaters.. ( 2mile commute truck is barely warm and Im spoiled with even the beater saabs having heated seats..)

For the front two bolts that hold the seat to the tracks we made some spacers to lift them about 1/2" It was a huge improvement. This is in the middle of the seat assembly. Not the floor bolts.

Basically what would need to be done is that you would need too add the Power Seat Bottom and Track Assembly...you may want to look now and see if your Harness under your seat has a Thicker Orange and Black Wire, you may be prewired for it already just by adding a fuse...you would also need to have a New Bottom Seat Cover....the reason for this is the New Bottom Seat Cover has the correct cutout for the switch assembly. If you are interested I sell a large variety of GM Seat Parts for the Fullsize Trucks. I have these parts available PM me if you would like more information and I can help you out.
