Random Question About Oil

Recommended Posts

The first time I had the oil changed in my truck I had 5W30 Valvoline syn. Last night I purchase more of the same oil and noticed the GM standard for the oil is GM4718M,the GM owners manuel says to run is GM6094M spec oil. How much does that standard really matter?

I'm running the GM/AC Delco oil filter PF48, is that a good filter?

GM6094M is their spec for conventional oil.

GM4718M is their spec for synthetic.

Your truck calls for for conventional, but using a synthetic is OK. Its an upgrade.
