4x4 Issue/problem

Hello , I have an issue with my 2003 , silverado 2500hd 4x4 system and am wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.

 

I use the truck to plow snow first off. The other night while scraping off the driveways with the back plow the 4x4 would disengage when i stopped on the street to shift into reverse to go back up the drive to scrape it again. The light goes off , the transfer case disengages and the manual shift lever is still in 4wd hi.Sometimes it will come back on by itself or i have to throw it into 2HI then back into 4HI to get it to work. It is also an intermittent thing doesn't do it every time. I had it into the dealer today and the master tech checked the power etc for the actuator and the switch located on the top of the transfer case and said that they are ok. Then i was told that it is probably inside the transfer case. There are no noises , grinding or any other issues with the 4x4 other than the disengagement. He thought it might be the switch losing contact but everything seemed to be working fine when he checked it.

 

Has anyone experienced this before ? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Take your switch apart and look at these points. IF the solder is broken or cracked, it's probably the switch.

Thanks Daddy for the reply . I didn't take the switch apart i had them replace it same day , the system is still acting up. I think i will do the Actuator before i decide to have the transfer case dropped and looked at. Seems to be that it does it when the truck hits a bump in the road or at the end of a driveway. Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated, Thanks again.
