For the second time since i have had my truck, 2008 RCSB WT 4.8 Silverado, this has happened. I drive it, get off....... and when i return, the chime that goes off when you leave the keys in the ignition...is going off, while i was away from my truck with my keys. The first time it happened it think i had to start my truck and then turn it off in order for it to stop. This time i just turned the truck on and it stop. Does any1 know what causes this?

Never had that problem before.

It sounds like the truck still thinks the keys are in the ignition. Or the door chime is malfunctioning .

Maybe some of the pros will speak up and help you out.

You may be one step closer to helping us figure out how to stop that friggin bing bing bing noise when you have the doors open

I walked away from mine the other night with the key out of the ignition and locked it using my remote, I looked in the truck and my stereo was still on and the interior lights didnt go out either, I walked up to it and you could hear the stereo still going so I unlocked it and put the key in the ignition pulled it back out and the stereo turned off like normal. It was quite strange

An interesting test would be to change the auto unlock feature to unlock on key-out. If you find that you have removed the keys from the ignition and the doors didn't unlock, then you would know there is something wrong with that system. You can set this through the DIC if I remember correctly.

Maybe it's the 'No Getting Off' chime.
