If 2" drop shackles are used, how does that affect towing? Also, can a rear swaybar be installed with the drop? These trucks seem to have a much higher butt than my 01.

I dropped my'09 with 2" shackles. I added air bags at the same time because I tow an enclosed car trailer. That's the combination you want if you are choosing to lower the rear as opposed to raising the front. Just run about 5 lbs in the airbags when you are not towing and they keep you from bottoming out on bumps. A tip if you go this way...install the airbags first and use them to help out with the shackle installation. You won't even need a jack.

Thanks. Maybe you can answer this too? What did you do about shock geometry? I assume that it changes when the rear is dropped.

The stock shocks can handle the change. I did end up switching over all of my shocks and struts to Bilstein HD's but it turned out that they were no better than the stock GM units. I didn't do it because of lowering the rear, just because I thought that they would give a better ride.
