Hi all, I am new here but not so much to my truck. I've had my '07 Sierra SLE2 now for almost 3 years.

Anyway what I want to figure out is what width wheel I can use without raising or leveling the truck. The more I look the more confused I get. I am currently looking at a wheel that is 17x9 with a +25mm offset. Some say that I need a leveling kit others don't. I don't want to buy these wheels and have them not work for me so any help would be much appreciated. I plan to get a tire that is the same diameter as the 265/70 17 that came on the truck.

I know this has most likely been discussed many times before but thought it would be an ok way to introduce myself to the forum. Thanks for all your help.

What is the backspacing? 9" wide wheel with 0mm of offset nets 4.5" of backspacing. So your 9" wheel with a +25mm offset with give you a backspace of basically 5.5". I think most silverado rims have 5.5 inches of back spacing. Basically for example if you have an 8" wide rim now with the same back spacing your new rim is going to stick out 1" wider. YOur tire width is the same but now your tire sidewall wont appear as concave. It with gave your rim and tire face a more flat appearance.....make sure that a 9" wide rim still meets the requirements for your tire.

I doubt youll need a level kit....all your doing is stretching the bead of the tire outward 1"...you might get more even tire wear.

Sorry the backspacing for the new rim is 5.96" I am currently looking at Ballistic Wizards. Thanks for the help.

Yeah you should be fine. Whats your factory rim size? 17?

Yea, the factory rims are 17x7.5. Atleast thats what I remember seeing stamped on the back of the wheel when I was rotating the tires. Thanks again!
