rod11 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I know there are a number of threads on nerf bars already, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the 3" round stainless you can get off of eBay for around $100? These are going on a 2009 crew cab Sierra. Outside of eBay I can't find any for less than $289, which makes me a little skeptical about why they're so cheap.

Some of the Brands on EBay, down come with the mounting hardware. I bought a pair of NFab Stainless and installed them myself, They are prefabricated to fit and under the body frame you have welded nuts specifically for installing the name brand bars. I would be leary on the ebay brands, Your Sierra is forth the extra cost for a good set of steps. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...st&id=15626
grose67 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I am pretty happy with mine. They seem to be holding up pretty good so far. They mount to the body mounts and came with new heavy duty bolts and washers.
03blackz71 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I bought my black nerf bars off of ebay about 2 years ago and they are holding up great. I think they are made even better than the name brand bars.
emwolb469 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I bought mine off of Ebay...I love them, they are great quality, however I have to grind my mounting brackets because they rub together with the frame mount and make noise as the chasis flexes...I put some white grease on there for now until I can remove them and grind them down.
Ryan00TJ Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Buddy at work put a set on his 09 Ram. I think they were $150 shipped. Seem to be nice quality. He said they went on fine with no modification. Time will tell how they hold up to the winter salt and weather vs the more expensive brands or OEM bars.
700 sportsman Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I've heard some good, and I've heard a couple that were junk, but most of those were black steel ones I'd just check out the pics good, and go for it
csheatz Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I got mine from ebay, T-empire or something like that. this is the 2nd winter and they still look new
ffthornton Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I got mine from T-empire as well. I have had them for a year now with no probems.
rod11 Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 I saw the T Empire kind on there. Guess I'll give them a shot. Thanks for the replies.
davzog Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Mine are also ebay specials...going on 4 years and are still like new, no sags, and look good.
