Trailblazer Stereo

My wife has an '03 Trailblazer and the stereo is slowly taking a dump. First the CD player quit working, then the rear speakers, now the driverside front speaker. The front passenger speaker is the only one still working. Anyone else have a similar issue? My buddy has a slightly older S-10 blazer that did more or less the same thing. Is it a common stereo problem with these things? I've had the stereo out but there's nothing obvious. I haven't dove into the speakers themselves yet though.

The speakers have a tendancy to go bad for no apparent reason. I have had issues with my 95 Blazer and 98 GMC truck.

so it's most likely just the speakers? i wouldn't spend much on speakers for it, just enough to be able to listen to the radio and such. they don't need to be anything with high performance sound. maybe i'll try some cheapies from walmart or something. i'll give that a shot first.

Yep, you can get replacement speakers for around 20 bucks apiece at Auto Zone and places like that. Try Ebay.

just dont buy the road master speakers from wal mart they suck i went thru 3 sets then just spent theextra 10 bucks and got the sonys from wal mart

yeah, i'll probably go with sony or something. i don't want junk stuff but we don't need to be thump'n & bump'n to impress anyone either. i stopped putting money into vehicle stereo systems about 10 years ago, lol.

 

not sure what to make of the cd player not working though. we haven't tried the cleaner kit yet but i get the feeling that's not going to fix it.
