Which Locker Is Best For Me

I got a 03 silverado 2wd with an open 342 diff. It is my DD and I don't do any off roading(expect maybe the beach every once and a while) Just need one for better traction on wet conditions and since I'm about to drop a cam in my truck would be nice for the tires to stick to the road as much as possible I was thinking powertrax or eaton but am willing to go with what works for my app.

I've read on other boards about people going with a eaton detroit locker.

Detroit greatly impacts drivability. Its almost like having a spool in the rear, or welded spider gears.

Cheap and reliable, and the best bang for your buck IMO is the Lockrite. Its much easier to drive with and is a damn good locker.

For your 2wd for the street I would go with the Eaton posi or Auburn unit. Either one would give you good traction.

Auburn Limited Slip. I have the Pro Series in my 77' 2wd and absolutely love it. Its not outrageously priced, and works like a charm.

TruTrac or Eaton LSD - no question about it. I've driven VERY powerful trucks (motor swap, cam, stall converter, etc.) with both. You didn't know either was there until you needed it.

I had the Powertrax "No Slip", it was miserable, I pulled it and went with the Eaton LSD, but IMO it was a tie between that and the TruTrac, I just found a better deal on the Eaton at the time.
