Lifting My Front End?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hey guys I was told that I can lift the front end of my truck by cranking a certain bolt. I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 4x4, and it does look like its dropped more in the front than the back. Would it be better to get some sort of lifting blocks to add to the front?

yes like the above guy said, NNBS do not have torsion bars unless they are HDs..so there are no keys to move around...your best bet is a level kit or coil spacers...i think some guys around here use the bilstein 5100 to lift the front end??

No torsion bar keys for you to crank, so do a search around here for leveling kits.

It is the 2007 GMC Sierra "Classic" model 4x4. I was just wondering what a good brand would be?

just go look at the front end, are there coils up there? if yes then you cannot crank them..if they are torsion bars then you can jack the front end up and adjust the torsion bar keys(they twist the torsion bars so the truck sits higher)

i would use either "daystar.com" or "readylift.com" both are good and inexpensive for a 3" lift/leveling. daystar uses poly spacers while ready uses alum... but daystar costs like 130 bucks. for a more expensive lift i used pro comp 1.. cost is way more... 1800 bucks

Not if he has the "classic" as stated above. In 2007 the "classic" is a GMT800 model with torsion bars. 2007.5 started the GMT900 coil spring front suspension.

To the OP: if you have torsion bars, you don't need a leveling kit. Just crank the stock keys to bring the front up about 1", get an alignment, and call it a day. Leveling kits for torsion bar suspensions aren't worth it unless you want to crank further than the stock keys will allow.

My bad. I ASSumed you had a GMT900. Just get the Ford keys (p/n XL3Z5B328CA).
