09 5.3 Exhaust

Im looking at putting after market exhaust on my 09 silverado 5.3 ext cab 4x4 and Im trying to get the size of the oem piping into muffler. It looks like 3" but I dont have any calipers to verify that. So my question is what is the inlet size of the muffler? Also can I get rid of the resonator without voiding the warranty? I think thats what it is called.. Looks kinda like a third cat 1-2 ft before muffler.. Thanks guys..

3" inlet, 2 3/4" tailpipe coming out.

THank you, kinda thought so. Just didnt want to go out and buy a pair of calipers to verify it.. Thanks a million.

so if i just took the muffler out i need a reducer to get down from 3" to 2.75" and then a piece of straight stainless and double female right? thats interesting that they reduced it. It doesn't look too difficult to run twin 3" pipes from the cats back and just exit right before rear wheels.
