Locking Rear Diff Or Limited Slip? What Am I Looking At?

I'm 99% sure I'm buying a truck tomorrow. It came in today and all I have to do is the visual inspection and a test drive. I used the VIN decoder at the Comp Nine website to see what features the truck has and this is what came back for the rear axle:

G80AXLE,REAR,POSITRACTION,LIMITED SLIP POSITRACTION L/SLIP R/AXL(G80)

The dealer told me the truck had a locking rear diff...does the description above look right for a locking rear diff?

Thanks.

if you dont have an open diff or a spool(Basically a soild axle) You have a limited slip.

Weather its a locker, a clutch type LSD, electronic locking...etc etc etc....it limits the amount of wheel slip, and is hence called a Limited Slip Differential

In the case of a GM truck, G80 means you have a mechanical locking rear

Cars with the G80 code have a clutch type LSD
