its been raining alot and rather wet, if i hop in and drive my truck it get this squeeking, chirping sound for about a mile or two and then its gone, this is without applying the brakes..it seems speed related at low speeds(25 mph)...is it just because my rotors are wet and spinning or are they dragging? or the u joints?

Where's the squeak coming from? Have someone crouch next to your truck while you drive slowly and listen. It could be the U-joints. It's a cheap fix (~$15) and it might not be a bad idea to change them out anyway.

Don't hesitate another day....get your u-joints replaced before they fall apart on the road. Mine were about 15 miles or so from going after that sound appeared. BTW...you can't shake them to check for bad ones like the old trucks either, they show no slop until it's too late.

far back of the truck is the origin of the noise, its not a constant noise and i cannot hear it after awhile, like somethings wet...no sound if its dry out or if the trucks been driven, it goes away after a little bit of driving and it appeared recently with the large amount of rain and fog

Moisture is a HUGE factor in disc brake squeak. Just hearing it goes away after a few miles tells me with 99% certainty that moisture is the issue. It causes no harm, just your pads saying they're wet.

i'm leaning towards brakes also, the thing that woke me up was it was squeeking just driving with no brakes applied...also to add it does squeek when brakes are applied too lol...i put cheap ass rotors and pads on the rear of the truck(i was poor at the time) and the rotors were wore down to nickels and god they wear 2x faster then my front ac delco parts...lesson learned

I would check the brakes. My 2007 Sub started squeaking like crazy last summer. I pulled the front wheels and the pads looked great on both sides at around 55k. Thought that was normal based on the forum here with people saying they're getting 80k out of these brakes. Fairly quiet all winter after that. Started squeaking again this week, figured it was a temperature thing and probably hubs gone bad. Today I stepped on the brakes and got nothing but GRIND. Pulled the drivers side wheel off and I see metal shavings everywhere but the pads are still OK, getting close to the brake wear chirper but not there yet. That doesn't seem right. Let me check the INSIDE pads. Crap! Metal to metal ripping up the rotor. I've seen uneven pad wear but I've never seen anything like this. The outside pads still have have 4-5mm left and the inside have zip. :dunno:

it is my rear pads..they are aftermarket and don't work real well to be honest, they squeek bad when wet...no complaints from my front ac delcos though :dunno:

Your caliper slide bolts have siezed, if you live in a snowy, salty area you should check them at least once a year.
