Doesn't this price seem a bit high fellas??

Leftover 09 Sierra on the lot, NEW, tons of options

Being a GM Dealer Employee, I qualify for nearly $10,000 off MSRP

Lot's of options I wouldn't really use.

I don't know...chime in with ideas and opinions guys.

I sold a few budget cars (personal cars) this past month...I'm just looking for something Nice.

Didn't a few of you land some deals in the low $20k areas for nice Ext Cabs ??

You've got to consider it's dang near 2 years old already... if you consider 2011's are due out in a few months. :dunno:

What I'd do is look at average retail for 2009 model, and average trade in for 2009 model.. and use that price to see if the price is in line.

It hasn't been "sitting" for 2 years!

It was delivered to the Store on Nov 9, 2009 (invoiced)

We have about six 2010 Sierra Ext Cabs on the lot now

So, definitely one year old.

But, 2 yrs old already????

When the 2011's hit the lot, that new 09 is 2 years old :dunno:

You go to trade it, you'd loose your ASS big! But its obviously up to you.

$10,000 off MSRP sounds like a pretty damn good deal to me. If you don't pick it up for that price, I'm sure someone else will!

If it's what you want, go for it

I can get a new left over 2009 Extended cab 2WD Z71 with nice options (no rear camera) for $ 22,230 plus tax with my GM card rebate of $ 2,200. When they topped off my card to $ 3,100 in January I could have bought the same truck for $ 900 less. Some dealers here in Florida still have a bunch of unsold new '09s on their lots.

I do not understand why Chevy and GMC truck packages must be different.

Just out of curiosity, I checked edmunds.com for some values

I punched it in as a USED, 4300 mile, truck

(Although, it is really a NEW truck with like 26 miles on it...)

Trade In $24486

Private Party $27913

Retail $30848

So, my New Dealer Price is about the same as a USED 4300 mile truck.

I'm not downing the deal, just saying make sure your educated on what it's worth. :dunno:

My father-in-law bought a new van similar deal, 2 years old but never titled, and when he went to trade it, he was SO FAR upside down, he couldn't so make sure it's worth what you purchase it for. Thats all.

A little more research

If I was to purchase a 2010 Model Sierra (nearly identical to the 09)

MSRP $36225

GM employee $32707

-$3000 National Rebate

$29707 plus ttl

I don't know...guess I have to realize that the days of grabbing a loaded NEW truck for low $20k areas are gone...wow...

almost all finance companies are going to book this truck as a used vehicle at this point. it's not worth the price

Small trucks are even more ridiculously expensive. A new 2010 LT1 4x4 crew cab Z71 Colorado stickers for almost $ 30,000. The problem is that there is only $ 1,000 rebate on it and the markup on the truck is less than $ 1,000. So the invoice sale price minus the rebate is almost $ 28K! I remember that they were selling similar Colorados just two years ago for under $ 17k!!!!!!!!

Just a thought. If you're the first to title it, won't it still have full factory warranty. (I.E. 36000 Miles / 3year bumper to bumper and 100000 power train.)

If it does, even though it is two years old ,it will be a 2 year old with REALLY LOW mileage.

Might be something to consider.

I paid 27,000 out the door with taxes for my 09 in March of 09. Sticker was like 36k plus 2k in dealer added stuff puts it at 38 so 27 ain't bad but regardless of when it was delivered it's still last years model so it already lost re-sale value. If they left it at 25k out the door i would jump on it. If not I would spend a little more and get a 2010. Just my opinion.

How are you people coming up with this 2 year old stuff, the thing arrived at the dealership NOV 9 2009, it will not be a year old until NOV 9, 2010. Yea Yea I get that the 2010's are out and the 2011 will be out this fall, but in reality this model year stuff that manufacturers play is BS, this is a 5 month old truck! And how did the poster who said that insurance companies will title this as a used vehicle come to this conclusion? ITS A NEW TRUCK AT A NEW CAR DEALER!.
